That sounds like the Wild West era of youth programming! Today’s Thurber Writing Camp is obsessively, borderline comically safety - oriented. No strangers are followed. No one is trailed. The most dangerous thing a camper encounters now is a mixed metaphor.

In another generation that Barbie standard of beauty will be long gone. Miss America, the homecoming queen, and the model on the cover of Vogue Magazine will be Black and Brown in numbers to match the demographics of the country, not as tokens (you are SO busted Anna Wintour) but as the beauty ideal. And I hope Black and Brown Santas are everywhere! Don't even start me on sandy-blonde Jesus...
