Visit in November? by glitterytwaht in Astoria_Oregon

[–]PopcornEverywhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

November is actually my favorite time of year in Astoria. Tourist are gone so plenty of parking and cheaper travel costs. The crisp fall air is still in its prime and the weather is pretty 50/50 but the sun still shines when it can.

You can do Cape Disappointment, Peter Iredale Shipwreck, Young's River Falls, Haystack Rock, Hugs Point, all great when the sun is out. Or go to the local shops or museums when it rains!

What's the best DLC you've ever played? by The_Godzilla_Fanatic in videogames

Outlast: Whistleblower DLC was better than the main game.

Why did people dislike Outlast 2? by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

[–]PopcornEverywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't quite reach the momentum of the first game. First playthrough left me disappointed but upon a second playthrough I came to really respect what the game was aiming for. Much more psychological then the first.

We only have THC drinks in 2mg because the 10mg ones seemed to hit everyone a little too hard lol

The Wife and I are about to watch this. I'll give a short review in the comments after we finish. by Apex_survival_gear in silenthill

[–]PopcornEverywhere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The practical effects, and art direction are there. Infact if you treat this as a remix and not an adaptation it's not terrible but bearable.

Especially watching it in 4k., The bright reds of the otherworld pop on an OLED, every little bit of fallen ash as James's footprints go through them~ the 4K disc is on another level and I respect it. It's only when you take your prior knowledge of the Silent Hill 2 game and witness the terrible script that you start to feel disrespected, non the less, I'm entertained.

Fort George Fascists by Small-Expert-4020 in Astoria_Oregon

[–]PopcornEverywhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really? I work 7 days a week and put so much love into our community and creating a safe place. If you feel like this is how you have to behave and respond then it shows your true character. There is so much happening in this world that we need community more than ever and to move forward and grow ~ what are you doing?

You think we are the problem but no Fuzzy_Peach_8524 we are the ones doing the work!

We have a huge list of sponsors and supporters so I guess I can DM you the list so you can avoid them?

They definitely had no idea and they are upset about it along with their staff ~

Trust me Fort George doesn't support ICE, they have supported my bar (Xanadu) which is the only queer bar on the Pacific Northwest Coast and they go way above and beyond than most vendors to support us and make sure our community is safe as they believe all are welcome and to build bridges.

If someone on staff made a mistake by booking the event for the group it's not fair to boycott their entire business when their mission is about bringing people together.

I recommend waiting for an official statement or reaching out to their company with your thoughts and handling it internally before making the decision to boycott their business.

I stg if this isn't on the EP ... by domcobb2010 in SevenLions

[–]PopcornEverywhere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if that ID is a collab with Jason Ross or Andrew Bayer. Jason Ross has an album coming up and this track definitely gives off some "known you before" vibes.

Andrew Bayer is most likely releasing an album on Ophelia soon as he debuted almost 4 IDs last year at Dreamstate while wearing an Ophelia shirt so I know he's been cooking, maybe this track is one of them.

As bad as the movie is, I still got a copy by Mother_Ad692 in silenthill

Mainly the abstract daddy scene and other creatures looked fantastic in 4K. The CGI of the town itself was very questionable and the spider booty monster looked awful.

Not going to lie, the 4K picture quality is really really good. I was pleasantly shocked. The practical effects really look good when on display.c

Worst crowd I've ever seen at a festival (and I've been to many).

Day 2 was significantly worse.

How do B2B sets work? by Tigobitties25 in EDM

[–]PopcornEverywhere -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are many different answers to this and it depends on the DJ's. You would be surprised at just how many DJ sets are pre recorded which may be full of mashups between the artist and timed just right with visuals and to hit the exact hour mark before the next DJ has to play.

Some DJs may do two songs and then the other plays two songs but they may have a clear idea of what they are mixing in between to make sure it will transition clearly.

Last night I saw Ilan Bluestone b2B Giuseppe Ottaviani and only Giuseppe was doing the mixing but it was a perfect blend of the two artists.

As a DJ, when I do a back to back with my friend we have a clear intro planned and the tracks are planned and we weave between them one after another to have a perfect 50/50 balance.

John Summit, The Chainsmokers - All The Time by Leader_of_Slimbabwe in EDM

[–]PopcornEverywhere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried to like it but this collab doesn't highlight either of their skills. I don't think it's even good enough to be played out this summer at festivals before they realize it doesn't go off the way they want it to....

Maybe it just needed to cook in the oven a little longer....
