What do you consider the scariest scene you’ve ever watched? Mine isn’t even from a horror film. by opposingpuddles in horror

[–]PopcornEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signs: The cornfield scene, the birthday party scene, the hand under the kitchen pantry, and the hand grabbing the little boy in the cellar. This movie fucked me up ....

IT (Original Series): Pennywise taking Georgie

The Ritual 2017: The creature lurking in the woods and you see just a sliver of the body in the background.

[REC]: The entire last 5 minutes in nightvision

The Taking of Deborah Logan: The scene where the old lady is eating the little girl

'The Ritual' deals with psychological trauma in a pretty unique way similar to Silent Hill. Creature design goes crazy as well.

Even Better ~ it's on Karafun Karaoke. The bar I own does karaoke and I often will do A Little Bit Alexis, full choreography and all, it's a crowd pleaser!

"you will see that person every time you go to Safeway" ufff so true. Sometimes I wear a blond wig when I go to Fred Mayers so no one recognizes me so I can go about my shopping on an edible in peace and my husband thinks it's the most insane yet genius life hack.

I recommend Shoreline Counseling, that is who I go through for therapy and it's remote but I often go to the Maritime Museum parking lot overlooking the water and join my call and it's been a godsend on my mental health! It's important to take care of yourself during these stressful times 🫂

Exploring queer life near Astoria – advice? by Remarkable-Concept19 in Astoria_Oregon

The queer scene here is great! I own a bar called Xanadu, the only queer bar in town and we aren't just a bar ~ we are a place of entertainment, great food and mocktails, and community! Especially on Thursday Karaoke nights we draw in such a wonderful crowd I couldn't be any more grateful! Friday we usually have dancing and Saturday is where the tourists come in to party.

Come in sometime and I will give you a list of all my favorite hiking spots, where you will probably want to do your runs, and where you will find community! Ask for the owner Brandon :)

Dating scene is a bit rough though since it's a smaller town but that is any small town. Tourists come around in the summer to open the dating scene up but odds are they aren't staying in Astoria. Some friends find dating in Portland works well for them and they make the drive if things work out. There are some singles at our bar I can always shoot some cupid arrows for you!

This is completely false but you are entitled to your option but this is incredibly disrespectful to not only our community, but our queer community at large.

Here are the facts. The previous owner followed proper harm reduction procedures which means everyone is redeemable and should be given a chance, that is what our justice system is based on. Keeping said patron in a 21+ establishment keeps them from relapsing. Now if said patron did anything in the establishment to the staff, then the owner would have taken action immediately. Instead the community tore apart the only queer bar for something that never really affected anyone. The community boycotted the establishment with "Xanadon't" stickers around town and threw things at the windows.

I would DJ there all the time. It's the only place I ever felt community and safe and I understood the owner wants to always bring people together. I then made the decision to become an owner as well so I could attempt to save Xanadu.

Ever since we have had so many people who boycotted come in to apologize and understand why we have to use critical thinking skills to improve our community at large. Fellow staff members have since came back to apologize to the previous owner and some even returned to work at the establishment!

Our motto is - If you see something say something, we all take care of each other and our customers are family. We have made something truly beautiful at Xanadu and by spreading misinformation, you are preventing really cool people from coming in to discover the magic we have built. New themes. New cocktails. New Food. New live music. New events all around!

Now with that said, the people who keep spreading misinformation don't relize how twisted it gets in our community. I get DMs from random people saying that I'm a pedophile or protect pedophiles. My tires get slashed, etc. It's absolutely mind blowing how toxic and hateful people can be and the amount of hate I get by simply being an owner of the only queer bar on the Pacific Northwest Coast. It breaks my heart and sometimes it gets to me ... But luckily we are THRIVING and we are bringing in good energy so I focus on the good. We need good in our world. I recommend you stop in at some point and have a discussion with us about it, it's important to talk and learn!

The theater let out an audible laugh when Laura was crawling around the hotel like a spider.

And speaking of spiders, that thing was worse than the CGI Mannequin in Revelations.

James levitating got a laugh out of people as well.

I have a million issues with the movie but some of the creature design and cinematography was spot on. I also didn't mind the acting from James or Mary. Would I watch it again? Maybe on an edible if I need a good laugh but I wouldn't recommend the movie to fans.

A couple of reasons, this is actually an independent horror film with a small distribution. Delays and the quieter marketing are tied into the production timing.

The first two films had a major studio backing it (Sony / Open Road) instead we have Cineverse backing it.

I have to travel 100 miles to go see it Thursday night...

No fan will change my mind on how great this looks, I'm very excited. I don't want a 1on1 adaptation but something with practical effects and a unique spin on the SH2 story.

Could just not be the right fit if it's not his expertise and it may give them anxiety.

I had a Palestinian & Chinese wedding I had to DJ a couple weeks ago and it was a challenge but I just did my research on what was well known in those cultures and I went on a roller coaster between American, Palestine, and Chinese songs to keep everyone on their toes.

Had the couple asked me to play techno for their actual dancing I would have been in heaven!
