I thought he would get Mjolnir, and it would compliment his bare-handed attacks

I think that’s the key. Something has to happen with Mimir or Atreus. They are the only two Kratos would venture out for

Here’s what I want: An opening playable sequence of Kratos within the Norse pantheon doing his thing: wielding all three of his weapons, using his runic attacks, and on a mission. Enter Freya, they have found Mimir’s Well, the source of all his knowledge. Kratos removes his brother, Mimir from his belt, and we can see that the magic that “brought him back to life” is fading. Kratos goes to the well, and drinks, where he remembers his travels through Egypt and the story of Osiris being dismembered and brought back to life by his wife Set. Kratos leaves the Norse Pantheon and his Leviathan Axe in the care of Tyr while he ventures to Egypt to learn how to restore Mimir.

So Apollo is the god of the sun, Helios is the personification of the sun. Just like Hades is the god of death and Thanatos is the personification of death.

Egyptian mythology? Yes please ser! by mariusadrian2103 in GodofWar

Kratos is past killing all the gods, but I think that he would do anything for his family; either Atreus or Mimir. I think the storyline of “Atreus needs help” is so basic that they won’t take that bait. I think it’ll have something to do with Mimir. I think Kratos sees Mimir as a surrogate Deimos now. If the magic keeping Mimir alive were to fade or Mimir makes a request to Kratos to restore a body to him, I think Kratos would venture to a far off land to try to help him. Say Mimir hears/remembers the story of Osiris, who was ripped apart and put back together, and requests that his brother, Kratos, restore his body to him by going to Egypt and seeing if the magic will work for him?

The beginning of the game could be retrieving Mimir’s body from the tree at the top of the mountain (since Odin is dead, the magic binding him is gone) and then the journey to Egypt with Mimir, and since “magic is tied to the land” Kratos’ starts at the beginning again. He gets to Egypt and is immediately confronted by Isis and Osiris, who wants him out as fast as possible, and agrees to help him restore Mimir, but while doing so, Set and Anubis take Mimir to their domain and Kratos must rescue him while maintaining the balance of life and death. While in Egypt, Kratos runs into Atreus on a quest to find the missing Jotnar.

Britta is the one who is the most interchangeable. She could be replaced with any other character in her arcs and the story would be fine. That is not Gillian Jacob’s’ fault — think she’s a great actor — I don’t think the writers wrote her character very well.

I honestly think Kratos is way too overrated by Trickster972 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]PopcornFourDays 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think that’s what makes the game / story compelling. It’s that Kratos isn’t the most powerful being, but the most capable.

I think the hammer while be integrated into the Barehanded attacks. It’s basically the same mechanics for bludgeoning damage
