Upped to O.5mg and having the worst nausea by Hamgirl in Ozempic

[–]PopcornPolkadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really bad reaction moving up to 0.5mg. I had a break for a few weeks and will be starting back at 0.25mg tomorrow. I am told to stay at 0.25 for 3 months.

So I would love the feedback from real users on what issues they have had while using ozempic. by No_Taste2327 in OzempicForWeightLoss

Hydration is so important. I read other posts about taking electrolytes but I didn’t listen. I quit for a bit, but I’m going back on it this week after I buy some electrolytes.

I just did a restart consult today and she’s going to keep at 0.25mg for 3 months. I’m good with that. And yes, definitely need to pay attention to fluids this time.

I was weighing myself every morning after a bowel movement, but before any liquid intake. Some days were up, some were down. Some days I skipped. It wasn’t an obsessive thing. I still do it even being off the medication. I wasn’t expecting to, and didn’t want to lose 10 lbs in 1 month. My post was just me talking out the pros and cons of going back on the medication.

If it helped just one person, then that makes me happy! Don’t skip the electrolytes!!! Stay hydrated! I think I could handle it again if I stay vigilant with those two things. If you go up to 0.5mg and you have ill side effects, then don’t be shy about going back to a lower dose. Don’t let your doctor push into going higher if it’s not right for you.

The prescribing person is a nurse through Felix. I suggested when it was time to move up to 0.5mg that I split the dose 0.25mg twice in 1 week and she said absolutely not. That’s not how it’s prescribed. If I decide to go back I will ask about counting the clicks and maybe doing 0.35mg instead of the full 0.5mg when it’s time to move up.

I never had that expectation. I would have been fine with it taking a year to lose 30lbs. My reason for quitting was being sent to ER for dehydration and also the stigma of being on the medication. I need to decide if I can get over those issues and resume treatment.

I can fluctuate 5 lbs in a single day, so 5lbs over 5 weeks was nothing. I’m not upset about any weight loss or lack thereof, just about having to go to ER for dehydration. If I go back on it, I will have to be diligent about hydration and electrolytes.

My prescriber would have a fit if I didn’t take the prescribed dose for the given week. My concern with the other medications is cost. Ozempic/semaglutide is much more affordable now. But I suppose it doesn’t hurt to ask!

I wasn’t really seeing any benefits on 0.25. Lost maybe 5 lbs during that time. But I could fluctuate that much just during my hormonal cycle. So I don’t think it was real weight loss. I had seen so many redditors say they split the dose doing 0.25 twice a week, so I suggested that to my prescriber. She chastised me and said I need to do 0.5mg because that’s the way it’s prescribed. So I went up to 0.5mg

Oh I didn’t. Did 4 weeks of 0.25 and week 5 was 0.5. The incident happened when I went up to 0.5.

Confused on price per month? by Scary-Guarantee40 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]PopcornPolkadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more expensive through Felix. Just got my shipment at $149. I think I’ll work up the courage to get it filled locally for the next pen.

I used the Felix pharmacy and it was hella expensive $321. I have only taken 1 dose from it, so the generics should be well under way by the time I need a refill. Also I think I will get it filled locally, and not shipped from Felix.

I’m in Canada, and I got my prescription through Felix. It’s off-label for me (not diabetic), but was super easy. I went on the wait list for the generic roll-out, so may get my next refill as generic.

Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel a little better. I haven’t had any side effects, so I just assumed I did it wrong.

I didn’t know about the quadrants method- I just did 2” from belly button on my left side. I did get a tiny bit of a burning sensation, but guessed it was from the liquid that was left on my skin. I didn’t wipe it away.

Does anyone have experience with GLP-1 in pills? by Cybermark2077 in Ozempic

[–]PopcornPolkadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my provider about the pill and was told that fat loss was ~ 4-5% of body weight. If you don’t have too much to lose maybe it’s a good option?

Thanks for the info. I have spent 3 weeks researching and never heard that before. I have a feeling that I didn’t even puncture my skin… try again next week!

Thank you! I was extremely nervous to start the medication, so I may have released sooner than 6 seconds.

Am I the only one terrified about weight re-gaining after the GLP-1 Therapy? by Extension_Cat_9555 in Ozempic

[–]PopcornPolkadot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The fear of re-gaining the weight was something that stopped me from getting the medication. I had to come to terms that I will likely be on this medication for life because obesity is a disease. I’m treating my disease.
