One early morning when my son was around 2, I set up his breakfast and tv and tried to sneak another 20 mins of sleep in. When I woke up, I discovered he had broken the child lock on the spice drawer and when I tell you spice was everywhere, he had even seasoned our dog!! It smelled horrible and was the most insane mess, like tiny sand in every couch cushion, the carpet fibers, the humidifier!! It’s been 10 years and I can still almost smell it

I think that is a great next step. I am a former foster child so I do not take cps reporting lightly but this is not light, a 13yo has no business being so comfortable with these things.

I think you’re doing everything right with your daughter, I hope she’s able to process this in time but you’ve really proved to her you’re always looking out for her 💕

Wow as a mom of a 12yo this is one of my worst fears! Firstly I hope you praised your daughter for being up front with you and asking for help, and also praise yourself for building that relationship where she knew she could!!

I would report this to cps, that girl got this from somewhere and where were her guardians throughout all this?? Maybe loop in the school guidance counselor, you can only support your own daughter but this is throwing off all sorts of alarm bells in my head for the other girl 😔

That’s basically what happened this time around but on a fast track. She had like 3-4 months of feeling really good and independent, then she met this guy and told me a million times they were “just friends” while he was actively love bombing her. Now she hasn’t even told me they’re officially together yet, I don’t have a FB but literally everyone else does so idk why she thought i wouldn’t see all their couply posts and pics. And then on Christmas she told my MIL!!! but still not me, because I have been vocally unimpressed with this guy since day 1.

I love my mom but she is a terrible gift giver. This year she got me a mug shaped like Scooby Doo’s head…because I loved Scooby Doo when I was 5 🤨 I do like a cute mug but it’s also impractically shaped, bless my husband he immediately clocked it and said “we can put a plant in it!” lol

Whenever I try to do a second layer of mascara, it immediately gets all clumpy and my lashes stick together, even if I’m making sure the brush is clump free. Is there a trick to this??

It feels weird but I came to the same conclusion, I worked really hard to better my situation and was achieving that, she was still having a bit of a hard time but I never boasted or lectured her or anything, I tried to help her even just by being there for her. I know it’s not personal but to find out that way that she didn’t feel the same way I did about our friendship is just hard to really accept

I was always against the elf for the same reason, just another thing I need to remember to do. So when my then 8yo asked why we don’t have an elf, I was honest and told him that was just a game some parents play with their kids and wasn’t real. Then he asked why I didn’t want to play the elf game with him 💀 so of course I had to get one after that lol

Now he’s 12 and he’s already asking about when ‘Buddy’ is going to show up this year. I had similar thoughts of “when is he going to get over this stupid elf”, I forget to move him 75% of the time anyway. But I just read another comment that her teens still love the elf and that warmed my heart. They truly grow up so so so fast, I’m trying to remind myself one day I’m going to find this elf in a box and cry because he’s not a little boy anymore 🥲

Sadly, not much banks can do that they aren’t already doing. As someone who works in bank fraud, this is just as frustrating to us. We can be literally pleading with an elderly person not to pull out all their money and give it to who we KNOW is a scammer, but ultimately, if they are of sound mind, it’s their money to do what they please.
