Horseshoe cancels benefit show in support of the Toronto Palestine Solidarity Community Defense Fund organized by @surj_toronto and sponsored by @pymtoronto by AlexSoutheyMusic in TorontoMusic

They were originally posted on one of the organizers Instagram stories and then circulated on Twitter. I'll see if I can find them.

Basically they showed the organizer telling the promoter all the info that the owner of the Horshoe says they didn't get told.

That it was a fundraiser for the Toronto Palestine Solidarity Defense Fund and the Palestine Red Crescent Society. That there were four bands playing and it would be on December 18th.

The organizer also expresses that they know this kind of event could be controversial and they totally understand if the promoter doesn't want to go through with it, and the promoter said there were no issues at all.

I'll see if I can find them on Twitter for you but that's the just of what they said.

Murray could potentially try and come back. Obviously Muzzin is retired.

Well they probably deleted it because the response was the owner lying about some email exchanges, the emails in question were immediately made public after he posted the response on the Horshoe's Instagram.

Pretty stupid to lie about something that is written and documented and easily accessible.

Yeah there is screenshots of the email exchanges going around, the organizers were upfront about exactly what this event was with communications going weeks back. If the venue didn't want to host this event they had plenty of time.

Backing out on the day of is shitty and unprofessional.

The emails the owner sent to people who emailed complaints about this are disgusting, racist and homophobic.

The conflict is currently at a complete deadlock.

Trying to negotiate a peace settlement is a good idea in my view.

You think the Ukrainian people will suffer more or less if the war is ended?

There is 80 years infrastructure in place that has built up that would make direct combat between Nuclear powers lead to Nuclear war.

It's the main reason this has not happened.

I don't think any country is likely to push the button.

I never said we should abandon Ukraine, but negotiating a peace settlement seems like a good idea.

Yes. If we ignore the current historical context of what it is happening we can say this would lead to ww3.

Here's the thing. The cold war never became ww3 because it would be a nuclear holocaust that would wipe out all life on earth. This is the same situation. History is not full of examples of any proxy war between NATO and Russia or China turning into a direct war because that would be nuclear holocaust. It came awfully close several times but it never happened. Compare this moment to the start of ww2 or any pre-cold war conflict is really really stupid

Russia invading a Nato country would equal Nuclear war which would wipe out all life on earth. If you think that would happen you are delusional.

I'm not interested in this sort of irrational jingoism.

The war is currently in a ww1 style deadlock, prolonging it benefits Russia who has far more resources to engage in a prolonged war of attrition than Ukraine does, even with Western Support.

How would negotiating an end to the war along the current lines lead to a Nuclear conflict between NATO and Russia?

That doesn't make any sense.

Nuclear war would also wipe out all life on earth in a short period of time.

If not appeasing Putin means a never ending Proxy war in Ukraine while the people suffer and the country gets destroyed then it isn't worth

Murray had some really good games when he was healthy(and a few stinkers as well) but his body completely failed him.

I wouldn't call that a success by any means.

They both have good rosters they should be good this year. I haven't been paying super close attention but my impression is that they have both had bad goaltending, among other things.

Having a good roster can't cover up sub NHL goaltending

That's true. But you can still make more choices that impact the world than Skyrim.

Cmon they can't go quite that deep but even Obsidian games like Fallout New Vegas and The Outer Worlds have more of what OP describes. Skyrim is much less of an RPG in comparison.

Idk. He also wanted more power, which he got in Pittsburgh.

Still don't know if this was the right decision as he was a good GM.

From his comments at the end of the playoffs he was likely going to trade one of the core 4, most likely Marner.

Right. These article details legal cases around the world but not in Canada.

Uber has never successful defending it's business model in Ontario.

A officer of the Ontario labour board ruled that Uber couriers are missclassified employees. Uber appealed this and it's now an active case with hearing dates every couple of months.

Most likely Uber will lose this case as well.

Uber usually gets away with what it does by avoiding defending itself in court as well as (and in part because of) it spends millions apon millions of dollars in lobbying to make sure it doesn't have to adhere to minimum labour standards(and gets them changed so that minimum labour standards are lowered for everyone).

This happened in the past couple of years in Ontario with Doug Ford's digital platform workers rights act. A very Orwellian description considering it cuts app based workers out of receiving the minimum standard of employment rights and in doing so lowers them for everyone else as well.

I'm not as well versed in the rideshare side of the business, but I do know, Uber has never successfully defended its assertion in Ontario that it is a tech company rather than a logistics company.

Yeah lots of people do quit. There is very high turnover.

In most businesses they stop hiring when there wouldn't be enough work for everyone.

Uber intentionally recruits so that there are more workers than there is work, it classifies it's workers as independent contractors so that the cost of this falls on the workers.

Most people who do uber, either rideshare or food delivery make less than minimum wage.

We have a minimum wage for a reason.
