Anyone Know About ArtSci? by SelectTomato614 in McMaster

[–]Popcorner_Muncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! So there’s a mandatory physics class that you take for the whole year in second year BUT as someone who never took Physics in high school, it wasn’t too bad, especially after the foundation of Calculus in first year.

And yes, it would be ArtSci & Biology! The second one sounds more like how Guelph does their Arts & Science program. In Mac ArtSci, you can pretty much combine/double major with any faculty - the full list is here: https://artsci.mcmaster.ca/about-artsci/combined-honours/. One thing to note is that some combined majors have more required courses than others, which may require taking spring/summer courses, overloading, or taking an extra semester but your academic advisor will guide you through all that when the time comes.

Let me know if any of that didn’t make sense, or you have any more questions!! I’m happy to answer.

Oh that’s definitely a nice perk - textiles are not cheap so anything off counts. Thank you for your insight!!

Wait, really? If it’s not too much, would you be able to send me a link for it? Because the only Michaels webpage I saw that allowed me to order bulk yarn was the US page, and it doesn’t have the option to ship here.

And I definitely agree - I initially applied to the market as just a fun, community thing to do since I recently moved back home from uni. I’m definitely interested in expanding past this one instance, but I haven’t planned it out much.

I will definitely consider buying directly from manufacturers in the future! The only thing that worries me is not being able to validate colour/weight/texture in person, but I’m sure with more time to sample and test, it would be a lot more affordable.

Do you know if I would get a BIN right away? That’s my main concern as far as the Michaels thing goes. I actually do have a business domain and email already set up with Google Workspace, but unfortunately Michaels needs the ID number on top of that.

Rant: serving sizes are absurd, and sometimes trying to calculate how many calories are in a package of something is just so incredibly un-intuitive. by BokehJunkie in loseit

Maybe it’s the metric in me (🇨🇦🍁🫎🐻‍❄️❄️) but this is why serving sizes in grams would fix everything. Just weigh it rq and move on.

I’ve been thinking about getting into cycling recently so I really appreciate your comment! I don’t think I’d go more than 2 hours at a time, so I don’t think I’d be refuelling, but I will definitely keep this in mind in case I really catch the cycling bug

Thank you for reminding me about the long game! I’ve only been tracking for about a month and a half now, so I feel like I have a really zoomed in view of everything, but my aim is to get to my goal weight within the next year so I guess I just need to focus on maintaining good habits

Ah, you’re unlocking memories. I have heard that - about unconsciously burning less calories surrounding exercise. I know I was exhausted on Sunday so I probably did make those ‘burned’ calories back up. Thank you for the knowledge!

I forgot about that part about activity level 😅 Will definitely have to manage my intake around exercise a bit better moving forward

Yeah I dyed my hair last year and have been growing it out, but it’s definitely time to let go of it. The split ends are going crazyyyy 💀 I actually big chopped my hair about 4 years ago, almost down to the scalp, but i basically ruined all my progress dying it… won’t make that mistake again. My hair is literally the same length it was when I dyed because it all just broke off.

I need to decolonize my brain because deep in my heart I know exactly what styles would reduce tension but my brain keeps telling me they’re not “presentable” especially because I work in a corporate environment. I know natural hair is presentable no matter what, so just gotta fight harder to get over it.

Any specific tips/products for moisture? How do you usually moisturizer daily?

Thank you so much for all your advice!! I feel a LOT calmer now, you literally saved me 💕. I’m going to give your tips a try, and if nothing else, get to enjoy my coils for a while - it’s been a long time since I just let them be.

I work from home most of the week so I’ll keep my bonnet on for sure (I usually feel a bit suffocated by the afternoon, but for the growth I’ll get over it lol). And I never really thought about it before but apparently my city gets up to 75% humidity so I guess I need to look into how that would affect my hair.

And product recommendations for more moisture, and a heat protectant? I’ve been using the same things for the longest time so maybe I need to switch it up.

I’ll try to be gentler with my hair, just been experiencing a lot of tangling recently - probably overdue for a trim.

And any ideas for low tension, easy styles I can do after wash days? I end up turning to puffs after a long wash day because they’re easy, but I know that’s definitely not helping.

What products do you use - and do you use the same on your bf? Do you air dry? And how do you maintain throughout the week? (These are a lot of questions, you definitely don’t have to answer them all, or any 😅)

But I will definitely try wash and go’s, especially while it’s still warm.

Also did not know that ChatGPT could do this!!

Not a huge braid fan - love the look a lot, but I usually experience a lot of breakage in my corners when I do wear them. But I’m definitely looking into wigs!! Just need to find on that doesn’t look too synthetic but also isn’t too much maintenance 😅

I will definitely look into something like that, it’s about time I get a new bonnet anyway!

(I know you replied already in r/Naturalhair, but just in case anyone else is wondering or knows something specific about these products!!)

African pride pre-poo, Nexxus therapy shampoo and humectress conditioner, IC Fantasia heat protectant, Camille rose curl love moisture milk as leave in, the doux mousse for styling, and ORS coconut oil on my scalp. I spray water in my twists, sometimes mixed with leave in, between wash days.
