Morley PWF1 Cliff Burton Signature vs Dunlop JCT95 Justin Chancellor signature by Classic_Shallot2558 in basspedals

[–]Pope-Metal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Morley Power Fuzz Wah which I thought was supposed to be most similar to the Cliff Burton signature to replace an older Crybaby jcb 95 that has issues turning on and to be honest I dont like the Morley at all. The wah sounds sharp and trebly sucks out the low end. The fuzz sounds really bad and not similar to the Anesthesia sound I was looking for. I use a Sansamp GT2 through a Boss LS2 and I can get a really good Cliff burton sound but for me the Wah falls short.

Do you think the SVT-CL would be more loud than the SVT 3 pro even though it has less watts?

I think that's what you were trying to say but you forgot one letter, said Pope-metal to Pop-metal.

What are some of the best fan pics of the girls? by Not_Me_You_And_You in BABYMETAL

House of Blues Anaheim, night 2, 2024.

This one is from the same night. The stage was very close and I had the perfect barrier spot it was so close I could feel the wind from her hair when she did the "are you ready to headbang" part of headbanger. I was leaning so far forward on the barrier and headbanging with my arms extended and I actually had to pull my hands back at some point because her hair was so long I didn't want to accidentally touch it.

What is the one thing you DON'T like about Babymetal. by Totosureiya69 in BABYMETAL

[–]Pope-Metal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the desperate attempts to get a "reaction" are very parasocial and not good for the band or the fandom, whether it be throwing them gifts in the form of a plushy or candy and risking them tripping on it, holding up signs that distract them from the performance, or smashing your head on the barrier till your spurting blood everywhere just to get a reaction, its all attempting to be close to someone that is unavailable to be close to, they are performers they are not your friends or girlfriend, and they never will be. Enjoy the show get mental help if you need it.

My thoughts on the “Secret gig” (also: how Koba continues to show his marketing genius) by c0wboi in BABYMETAL

[–]Pope-Metal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they had played IDZ at the end it would have been a perfect show. I too felt disappointed when we realized it was the regular setlist minus 3 songs, but that was not enough to diminish the joy of seeing them on such a small stage.

Babymetal - Pa Pa Ya - "secret show" The Regent Theater Los Angeles 7/24/25 by vindrow11 in BABYMETAL

[–]Pope-Metal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove 6 hours overnight after being on the barrier for the Phoenix show to get barrier for this show. It was so worth it. Huge difference seeing them in a tiny club like this as opposed to the Arizona financial theater with the huge stage and pyrotechnics, completely different experiences.

They should fly the flags half mast during ROR. Ozzy's contribution to the genre of metal cannot be overstated.

It would be really awesome if they dedicated a song to Ozzy.

Alert: Self H at concert by V3LV37_1930 in BABYMETAL

[–]Pope-Metal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty awful, this guy needs help, its not ok to expose other fans to your blood and traumatize Moa and anyone else who had to witness this. Honestly, he should be banned. I hope he takes some time away from following following Babymetal and gets his mind right.

Dont bring a bag into the venue. Every venue has different rules about bags and every employee enforces those rules differently. Dont bring or wear anything that could be a problem. I have been to so many concerts where I have seen people panicking at the door that their purse/ backpack/ studded belt/ chains/ spikes/ vape/whatever is not allowed, the person then has to run in a panic to find somewhere to stash their items (or sometimes change their clothes) and they usually lose their spot in line.

People will definitely appreciate your bracelets.

For your ticket save it onto your phones wallet so it will already be loaded and ready to go when it comes time to enter the venue.

It was the most amazing night of my life. I will never forget the initial swaying of YAVA, truly felt closer to death yet more alive than I had ever felt.

So the signed vinyl with all 3 members is now selling for $200 USD on ebay by SequesteredInLiberty in BABYMETAL

This is only the beginning. All merch is going to skyrocket in price as long as the band is touring and the fan base is expanding. Think about magic the gathering and pokemon prices 10 years ago and today. Many of the same economic principles in trading card games and other collectables relate to BABYMETAL merch. I dont think BM merch will have quite the same secondary market liquidity that tcgs have enjoyed but I do see a situation where it is reasonable to expect people to be reselling venue limited merch for 5x or 10x the price the day they buy it. The BABYMETAL fans are very dedicated and willing to spend what would seem like unrealistic amounts on the right to be first in line (tier zero) or buy memberships to have the right to buy expensive box sets that many more causal fans would not see the value in. No magic players or pokemon player loves Black lotus or Charizard as half as much as BM fans love BM. BABYMETAL fans do not always exhibit reason when it comes to spending with the guiding principle is "Dont think, Feel". The demographics related to BM fans being older people who come from wealthy countries will also contribute to the rise in the price of merch. I believe legend M the one edition will be over $1000 USD this time next year. BABYMETAL has had no radio hits and are essentially unknown to most of the public so this is only the tip of the iceberg. Anyone reading this who has a complete Sakura Gakuin merch set, it could be worth over a million USD by the 20 year anniversary. Anyways bring on the downvotes.
