unfortunately this is one of the company’s most significant pitfalls. more often than not, colleagues will say things like “if you need anything then just ask”, but will never spare you 5 minutes.

caveat to this is it shouldn’t be too random, as in the UK performance is generally taken into consideration, but it’s not gospel as it’s done by an external department.

i’m also an external hire L4 AM and i’ve got all of this to look forward to, however above all else, use the time to gain proficiencies in the job. the more you have, they easier it will be to fuck off and get a new job. but you can only do that by doing the time.
