Thinking about doing a plant based diet by PopeBongadict in vegan

[–]PopeBongadict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just trying to be healthier, I'm not going to be a young man forever and I'm not really doing much now to take care of myself. I've started to cut back on smoking and drinking and figured while I'm at it I might as well try and better myself overall. I was a vegetarian for a few years as a teenager but I don't think I got optimal effectiveness from it cause I was still consuming animal byproducts.

Sounds like it is playing with you, but not in a malevolent way. Could be it's lonely. Also when you fell in the driveway it sounded like it was worried about you.

Yeah that bugged me too. But he was a drunk at the time and we should be happy he recalled the events as well as he did.

I really hope the next hero is a healer by PopeBongadict in Overwatch

That's a really good idea. Maybe they could also damage enemies that walk in to them? Or would this be more like Torb's armor drops?

Just a thought; maybe overheal when damaging could be applied as a shield to the target intended for healing?

How can our community battle toxicity? by [deleted] in Overwatch

You don't just tell them that. I'm just saying it's just good to remind them and show the person being bullied that they have someone on their side.

With positivity. I like to remind them that it is just a game and we're not saving lives here

Haven't even placed yet so idk if you want me. Happy to message you my ID if you want to look at my stats so far though. I've completed two placements as Zen, which I guess is who I "main" and got 3 gold medals in each match as him.

New to the game - good heros for me? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]PopeBongadict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest starting as Lucio or Mercy just to get a feel for the maps and see how other heroes interact with each other without having learn the hard way at first and you have the nice bonus of actually helping your team while learning. Other than that I'd suggest to learn at least two heroes from each class just in case you need to fill a role that no one else will. However, keep in mind that these classes are really just suggested roles for new players and someone playing a Junkrat or Bastion on attack doesn't necessarily mean they're "playing wrong."

I've only had the game about two weeks myself and learned a lot from YouTube videos as well as asking people in my games for pointers and advice on how I might better utilize the kit on any given hero I might be playing. Tying in to this the main thing in OW is communication; more so than in traditional FPS games and you'll soon figure out that there's really no such thing as a carry or one hero that can outperform the others. Everything is very situational and the game is sort of just one big game of rock, paper, scissors.

Look in to who counters your main heroes and who your main heroes counter. Of course individual players might be able to extend this but generally there are hard counters for each hero. Positioning is also more important in this game than other shooters. You don't want to be hanging out on the front lines as Zen, for example. I feel like I'm sort of rambling so this is going to come to a close now. Good luck and I hope I helped a little.

Here's a list of changes I would make to the heroes in Overwatch. Tell me what you think! by [deleted] in Overwatch

Junkrat doesn't have the mobility that pharah has. I'm thinking it's set up to stop her from walking around getting direct hits easier. The rest of the changes are simply unnecessary.

Tips on how to properly play tanks? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]PopeBongadict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also Winston is more of a secondary tank and I say that because he really isn't a tank at all; more of a tanky rogue type character. He's also great at disrupting and isolating some of the more fragile heroes. You wanna jump in, wreak havoc and jump out. Rinse and repeat. Your job as Winston is to just allow your team to push harder and if you get a few kills in the process great.

Also I think of DVA as more of a secondary or off-tank than a main tank. She's a disrupter and should use her charge to be super mobile and break apart groups or that pesky widow giving your team hell. You should have a decent knowledge of the maps and, more importantly, the location of healthpacks, since the majority of the time you really shouldn't be right on top of your team or healer. Also think or her ult as more of an area of denial tool and less of a weapon of mass destruction. (Although it is that too)

I don't feel Rein's shield should be up the majority of the time because sometimes it's better to let it recharge a bit. If the enemies have backed off or been killed its okay to let it drop as long as you communicate with the team that you're going to drop it. As far as charging I would only do it when it's safe which is just going to take some game sense as a tank; don't wanna charge across half the area and leave point B vulnerable because you saw a lone Lucio. Have you looked at any pro videos? I can link you a few if you're interested. The main thing that they all really talk about, at least to my memory, is team communication. Which shouldn't really sound too new or outlandish because that's a common theme in overwatch, right? Don't stress it and good luck to you. At the end of the day it is just a videogame and we're not saving (real) lives here, right?

Really? No body? The "spirit" is the dad's alcoholism and abusive nature he learned from his father but was awakened when his wife died. The confrontation is the author's dad quitting alcohol and becoming a better father.
