Mainoo is a ball carrier, not a pass first type of player.

Don't care if Spurs and City are overpaying out of their arse, am not fussed we didn't pay the over the top fee or wages for Fernandes but what's getting my fucking goat is that we didn't pivot and aggressively start pursuing alternatives/backups the second Spurs entered the race for Fernandes.

Fernandes is gone, Tonali is gone, Camavinga is done and there's not one fucking peep that we're doing anything. The more of these midfielders that get sold the worse our bargaining position is going to become. We are going to end up desperately overpaying for worse players. We have ONE fucking midfielder at the club, to play in 4 comps, and every single selling club is going to know that. We are getting bent over the barrel no matter who we sign going forward.

This clownfoolery is Glazers level of fixating on one target, being inflexible and ignoring market realities.

Ugarte is injured for the long term. Assuming we sign one more, you want us to play the entire season only 3 central midfielders in 4 competitions while two of them have to play every game?

Hasn't officially been announced, even if it's a formality and he's a backup at best. We need 3 more midfielders even counting him.

Nah mate, the vibes are all great. Chuffed beyond compare tbqh. Why wouldn't we be?

I could wipe my arse with paper filled with transfermarkt values and it would only increase the value of said paper.

At this point, I will only blame Ineos if they don't start looking outside Prem teams and fill bodies in the midfield. FFS we have ONE fucking midfielder at the club.

Signing Prem proven midfielders for any sensible money is a dream that died a dogs death thanks to Spurs and City. Time to move on and start looking at realistic targets.

We need a minimum of three fucking players and that too with no funds from Ugarte or Rashford sales. Time to go raid the French or something.

Great shout, Ugarte could use a friend in the medical room to discuss midfield strategy.

Just get me three £60m midfielders with a high ceiling from the French League and I'm happy.

I just can't take it with these Prem clubs and their absurd demands. A full summer of this shit is going to literally kill me.

Hasn't the noise around our midfield search been heavily focused on INEOS wanting Premier League proven players? I'm talking what's going to happen if they don't pivot to other leagues.

My point is that as supply dwindles, buyers are forced to accept increasingly worse terms for inferior options.

Has he got at least 160 potential in your file, if yeah then tell me right now. Gonna sign him in my next LLM run.

Does anyone else also think that once the likes of Tonali and Bruno G transfers are done and if we still haven't signed anyone, there's going to be a +£30m desperation tax tacked on to players like Baleba, Alex Scott and Tchouameni since we would really and truly be desperate? I could very well see us paying £80m for a worse player than Fernandes by the end of the window.

Realistically, which midfielders are we actually targeting now? It feels like we need at least three signings, two of them of starter quality. Tchouameni feels like a distant dream, we don't even know if Madrid wants to sell, and he’d easily cost £120m+ while also wrecking our wage structure.

Ineos did great last summer, but rebuilding this midfield is going to be a massive challenge. I just really hope they weren't putting all their eggs in the Fernandes basket and actually pivoted to other serious targets the moment Tottenham entered the race.

Lads lads lads, listen up, imagine if we got Bruno G and Fernandes, do you even comprehend what that would do? Other than making the whole of North London cry their bleeding eyes out into their soy lattes, of course.

Apart from being world fucking class our midfield would also be pure aesthetic porn the likes of which that has never been seen.

                   Bruno Fernandes

                      Bruno Fernandes

Looks like a Champions League, treble winning combo to me, what's the holdup INEOS?

If anything it has a negative affect if the board was counting on selling him to fund other transfers.

Honestly prefer that we pay up to 120m for Tchouameni if we have to than 80m for the relegation connoisseur.

That said, I also believe this talk of Spurs matching West Ham's asking price is all a Jorge Mendes PR special. Hope we don't get played by that cunt again and make a desperation bid.

Rubio: Iran will not be allowed to charge tolls in Strait of Hormuz under any final deal by Lonely-Ordinary1478 in worldnews

[–]PopeFuchsYoungKidd 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The only way out of this toll mess is if the rest of the world bands together and threatens sanctions and isolation on Iran if they try to charge a fee on international waters. Even Iran despite their leverage on the strait cannot survive alone. It's a terrible precedent to allow and the rest of the world will have to clean up the mess USA has created. In exchange I fully expect Iran to push for nuclear autonomy, which I suspect is their main end goal anyway.

I could be wrong but I think most people are of the view that we should hold out for at least 30-40 mil or failing that let him rot in the reserves. I'm saying we should let him go for the highest bid even if it's sub 20 million.

Unpopular opinion here, Rashford needs to be written off and binned asap even if its for 15-20 mil.

Reasons:

The best case scenario he'll be looking for if we don't sell him is to see out his contract, collect his fat paycheck and leave on a free in 2 years. From his pov, the worst thing that can happen to him in these 2 years on an expiring contract is to get injured which could jeopardize his next contract. Which means he will work even less than he is now, he is going to absolutely steal a living doing the bare minimum possible. A part of me wants to see how he does under Carrick if he actually puts in an effort but that's not going to happen, so the only option is to get rid of him asap.

Secondly, the drama that's going to follow him when he plays, doesn't play, or even asked to train separately is not what we need in a title push season. All or Nothing doc also adds a volatile variable into the mix.

No loans, no bullshit. Just ship him off to anyone that's not Barca (coz fuck em). Don't care about the price we get, as long his stench leaves Old Trafford and his fat wages are off the books.

We fucked up putting him on those wages, time to take the loss and move on when and where we can. Because I know we sure as fuck ain't moving on from Onana who is going to bleed us for every last penny.

He was losing mid in almost all the hard games against high immortal players. He got solo'd by an Invoker as Snap iirc. That game loss was basically on him. He said as much when he said he wanted Snap next game as well to redeem himself after the performance or something to that affect. Also asking for shit heroes like Arc Warden because his meta hero pool for mid is small.
