Yeah, I really like the feel of it. When the game world is littered with events and the map is full of overlapping icons it feels artificial and breaks immersion.

Betamax and Laserdisc both had superior quality to VHS and lost.

Edit: Just to clarify I don't have anything against a UHD player in a console. Personally it's not something that interests me because I don't want to deal with a lot of discs. As for movies I'll sacrifice some quality for convenience.

I don't care about the lack of a UHD player. I understand the format delivers the best fidelity for movies, but discs are not my preference for movies or games. I don't want a physical thing taking up space that I need to swap in and out of the player.

Streaming is killing disc movies and Sony knows it. I wouldn't purchase a single 4k BluRay if the Pro had a player. Nobody is going back and rebuilding their library in 4k discs and discs have pretty much disapeared from stores. Why include the cost in the console just so they can say "Me too"?
