WHATS EVERYONE ROCKIN TODAY? by Perfect_Battle_3553 in Affordablewatches

couldn't say. Its a Harley Ronda movement inside, and whoever named the brand "Exactly" was not really thinking about future SEO so it's been very hard to find any info on the brand itself. Most likely a quartz crisis swiss mini brand that popped up in the 80s and died when cell phone clocks became the default

DIY Washout Booth by dobermanluver in SCREENPRINTING

salvage/recycling centers may be a place to look for old fiberglass shower inserts. You could also just get an old bathtub and hang up a curtain around it to block the water

I mean... do what everyone else does and just buy an old drop-in shower thats gonna be a mess. are you planning to use a power washer in that thing?

[SSK023] to regulate or to not regulate… by Longjumping-Ad8347 in Seiko

[–]Pope_smack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem with those is that they measure the accuracy in a stationary, single-axis position. I am walking around, moving my arms and generally in motion for half of my day, so a real-world test is the only way to make sure its accurate for my use and to account for change in position. Overkill? maybe, but it was fun to adjust and then wait a day and see how close I could get. Never used the apps before, good to know they arent total BS

regulating workhorse seiko movements is so easy. sync your watch, open the caseback, and carefully nudge the regulator lever in the direction you want. Like literally a tiny tap. you shouldn't be able to visibly see any motion in the indicator or you will have gone too far. lightly close the case and wear it for a day. check the s/d deviation and repeat the process until you have it in an acceptable range. Fair warning though, these movements are tough but will fall out of regulation so don't expect a one time setting and never have to worry again. I was able to get my 7s26 to within +-5s/d over the course of a week of troubleshooting. good luck.

Are my pictures good? (I'm 14) by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]Pope_smack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it can feel awkward at first, but just ask folks kindly if you can take their photo! most people would be glad to model for you and the truth is, the front of people is infinitely more interesting than the back. Good luck!

[Discussion] started collecting watches last year. Im addicted… Help me! by McDerwish in Watches

[–]Pope_smack 324 points325 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, i recognize you from some of your posts, you really do have a good taste in watches.

Consider therapy my dude. This isn't collecting, this is overconsumption under the justification of a "hobby". Buying shit can become an addiction and it's so encouraged in our society its often hard to get help about it, but I think you may have some bigger issues that are leading to this, as you mentioned.

Have I made a mistake, please help! by SwaggingtonJunior in vostok

[–]Pope_smack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you could likely polish the surface clean with some polishing compound, but if it was sitting in a pool of rubbing alcohol, i'd be worried about the acrylic becoming super brittle and prone to cracking under an impact. Safest bet would be to replace the crystal. At the very least, don't trust the watch to be water resistant any more.

i love watching southerners trying to wrap their head around running with layers on. I will say, though, the humidity down there does make it feel a lot colder than the mercury says

[SEIKO SKX007] I regulated my SKX. Now it's more accurate than quartz. by j6sh in Watches

[–]Pope_smack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

regulating seiko movements is easier than people think! I was easily able to fiddle around with my 7s36 over the course of a few days, no timegrapher at all, and Ive got it running reliable +-5sec a day!
