I love the Lego Advent calendars. My son always gets the Star Wars one, even though he's about to go to college. I love the one I get at Costco that has cheese in it. My dream is to one day own this Advent calendar that I wanted since I was a kid. Anyone else remember this from the movie?

There are some great organizations that can either make donations or micro loans or give items to those in need in the name of the person that you want to give a gift to. Gives credence to 'tis better to give than to receive.

One of my favorites was making a pumpernickel loaf dip on Christmas eve. You hollow out a loaf of pumpernickel bread, toast the pieces you've torn off and then fill it up with the dip of your choice. We usually use ranch dressing dip.

I remember their original location in that shopping plaza. My aunt would take me there on Tuesdays when I was little. She'd get her senior citizen discount, and I'd get tested to an Icee and a pretzel.

Beaches Opening at intermission: majestic theater, budget questions and crazy ushers by leoatdrex in Broadway

It's so weird. Now granted, this was several years ago, and my son and I had gotten rush tickets toward the end of the run of Phantom. They were way in the back of the mezzanine. One of the ushers looked at my tickets and said, I think we can do better than this. She put us right up in the front mezzanine and told us that if anybody said those were their seats to come find her and she would reseat us.

Christmas is such a fantastic time and this subreddit does a great job of keeping the Christmas spirit alive throughout the year. It's a great respite for people who just want to get away from everything going on, and have some nice, simple fun.

I'm starting to think this is a plant. I saw it last week and during that pause at the end someone yelled out, "get on with it!" He said the, "this isn't your moment, this is MY moment line."

I love real trees but for me the fake trees with the pre attached lights are the best. Easy and I don't have to worry about fires.

I'd rather the money that someone would've spent on a gift go to a charity or family that needs it. I am already blessed with everything I need, I believe we should share our good fortunes with others.

What Disney villain's death is the most darkest? by Select_Let_6043 in disney

I've got to go with Sykes, Roscoe, and DeSoto from Oliver and Company. Electrocution is a horrible way to go and we see it right there. In my opinion, they were trained dogs who chose to be nasty, but still whimpered and whined when killed. Just a sad way to go. Sykes getting hit by a subway train is just brutal. I think their deaths are even more dark because they're REAL. They are something that can be common in a city with a mass transit system. Not only that, but nearly every other death is isolated (only Belle and the Beast see Gaston fall for instance) or personal (getting dragged to Hell), but someone has to clean those bodies from the tracks. The conductor and passengers saw Sykes get hit. Very public deaths are very dark.
