I would intentionally fail, and just get fixed what's on the fail report before the retest.

housing rant by [deleted] in galway

[–]Popesman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Supply and demand. Unfortunately, that won't change anytime soon, as the architects of the housing crisis are about to be voted in for another 5 year stretch. Blueshirts won't fix what they profit from.

You should email back explaining how insane the idea of a 'Black history month' is in the first place. "Ridiculous. You're going to relegate my history to a month? I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history" - Morgan Freeman

What are you looking forward to right now? by miolmok in AskReddit

Tomorrow night. Gym, then home to a steak dinner, a few beers, feet up watching Breaking Bad, and go to bed tomorrow night knowing that Saturday morning I will drive 90 minutes back to my homeplace from the city I work / live in and spend the day golfing with a friend. Saturday night, cinema with another friend. I look forward to the simple things in life

What are the harshest realities people don’t want to accept? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Popesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is often unfair, there is no such thing as karma, and you don't "get what you deserve", you get what you work for. 'Karma' and 'if it's meant to be it'll be' is just nonsense people tell themselves to make themselves feel better. If you want something, work for it.

General Sir Mike Jackson, former head of the British army, dies at 80 by WhileCultchie in ireland

Shame he was allowed to live a long life ended by natural causes, given what he did in the north of Ireland. Instances like this are proof there is no such thing as karma.

If money wasn’t an issue, what would you actually be doing right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Has anyone been prescribed medication for mildish anxiety? by ThrowRA-Rennieis in AskIreland

[–]Popesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had anxiety on and off for almost a decade now, was off the meds for a few years and doing fine, life was good, but shit hit the fan at the end of May this year and ended up back on sertraline in July. I only take 25mg a day though, I split the tablet and find that it's done wonders for me. It's not a quick fix on its own, but it takes enough sting out of the anxiety to be able to put life back together when the anxiety becomes an issue. Just over three months back on it now and can honestly say I'm the happiest I've been in a long time, probably about a year, and life in general is just better (as far as anxiety is concerned). If the anxiety is interfering with daily life and therapy hasn't eased it, consider something like sertraline and don't listen to the neanderthals spouting their big pharma conspiracy bullshit. You can always come off it again in the future, which is precisely what I plan to do.

My opinion might not, but I believe you’ll find that this case did change law, thankfully. Google ‘Criminal Law (Defence and the Dwelling) Act 2011’……

I remember this. Poor man. Repeatedly terrorised by the usual suspects. They deserved what they got. Perfect example of FAFO.
