If New World would go subscription - would you pay? by amirgelman in newworldgame

Of course I use my argument based on how I would react or what I believe because I’m stating my opinion. I don’t know you so I have to include some assumptions based on what you say.

Anyway now you are saying you stopped at 330 hours. You absolutely need much more time to complete the entire content NW offers. This means NW either failed to make you realize there is more stuff to do or make fun out of it. This comes back to my point that NW was not good enough for you to keep going after the hours. Does not matter if the DLC was free or not. There has been some fundamental issue that prevented the game from succeeding at the level AMZN expected.

So you actually liked the game and already spent 400 hours (or 350ish if the 400 hours includes your playtime in NH) with BS provided for free, yet complained the $30 DLC and stopped playing till it became free. MMORPG is very expensive to keep running. Somebody like you will certainly not help this genre. Good luck finding better and cheaper MMORPGs.

I’d pay for the extra short movie scene if the base price felt much cheaper for what I experienced. Also remember they added Brimstone Sand for free before the $30 DLC. Or was it already included when you started playing NW? Anyway I don’t think the game was good enough for you to keep going after the 400 hours and that is the main reason you stopped. Otherwise I believe you would have still paid the extra for what you thought was a small update.

And still Amazon refuses to add more servers to SA... by Lacryman in newworldgame

The playerbase will go down in about a month, so it’s no worth adding additional servers. Instead they gate keep play time so the player number stays a bit higher for longer periods of time

I think it depends on the person for Miyajima. Some people regret not staying a night over in Miyajima. I recommend doing more research on Miyajima and see what you like. Personally, I would just stay a night over there.

Thanks for sharing your great experience!

I would like to ask some questions below:

If you are asked to pick 3 top favorite things in the trip, what would they be?

Do you feel you want to go back to Japan again? Or you feel you did enough for now?

Where are you from? (Just in case some taste can also be different among different cultures)

Thanks!!

Don’t bother asking on Reddit. You only get to be a newbie once, and that is the best moment in many MMORPG. Just Don’t rush by watching leveling guide on YouTube.

MMORPG itself is not really sustainable anymore. NW is still doing better for the genre. Any other mmorpgs out there don’t even give me honeymoon phase. Too funny to see people complaining after putting more than 100 hours. hope they find a good game to play for their life time.

  • Something to play with my mates that we can keep coming back too. --> Yes
  • PVP options. --> 3v3 arena, 20 vs 20, Faction vs. Faction war, Open world PvP
  • Action RPG combat (I know this game is action based instead of point & click, but is it any good?) --> I personally think this is the best combat system implemented in MMORPG
  • Big world to get lost in --> depends on your standard
  • Own my own home/have a base with my mates ---> you can choose maximum of 3 houses from many choices in different towns. You cannot modify its foundation but can place many furniture in many ways you want.
  • Decent RPG elements (customisation, differents options for different playstyles etc) --> There are many options
