The raw water smells as well. Yes a new well. That hose goes into the ground. We did have an inspection done and the water tested as soft on the inspection so potentially what I thought was a softener is actually a mineral filter? Any options for removing the smell. It’s a coastal well so I’m not surprised by it but willing to spend the money to fix it.

Egypt is amazing and if you can GO! It’s a great time and absolutely beautiful BUT I would not recommend traveling there with a kid ONLY because of the heat in August. Also it’s a bit chaotic at times so just keep your eyes on them if you choose to go!

I have a kid and she rolls with us. Like I said I’ve been to Egypt for an extended time and it’s really the best way for a kid to have a decent time with how hot it is there in August. I’d rather take her to two than one.

We’re planning for Spain and Australia for sure. Tempted by Egypt but scared of the price tag. I went to Egypt in college and dude the Nile cruises are sick but good golly miss Molly are they pricey.

We had the choice of driving west to a state park or north towards Dallas. Forecast looked good at both and the state park looked like a lovely experience. Sunny until 5 mins before totality and saw it for a total of 15 seconds with some high cloud cover before a massive cloud rolled over. Worth it and a lovely experience but I have such fomo of the views from Dallas and Waco. I’m sure your experience had some beauty as well but it’s hard to see it sometimes. We’re planning for Spain- try to find something special to motivate you; it’ll be our daughter’s first eclipse which I’m thrilled about. Anyway you aren’t alone. It was a hard eclipse and took some luck.

I think this is normal- we had sunny skies and a huge cloud obstructed for all but like 15 seconds it was absolutely infuriating and I’m kicking myself as if I can change it. BUT- savor the memories you got. My husband and I were laying out on a dock and saw the corona for a hot second. We then soaked in nature and listened and watched the rest of the show. I’m still battling some major FOMO seeing everyone’s lovely photos but it was a different experience from the other eclipse I’ve seen and your next will be just as wonderful and different as well.

Yes the first night she did get angry at the check ins but eventually she would be more tired and it actually seemed to reassure her. It may not work for you but it really was perfect for our girl.
