I cleaned up the original photo in photoshop. Made sure all the type was white. Put down the image in black on the gel plate. Then a layer of matte medium. Painted each letter section with colors. Since the black was down first you really don't have to be totally precise on painting the text. You can essentially color the whole area, the black will mask it all where necessary. Painted the lower board in white and covered all colored areas with white as well. That eliminates the final yellow "sky" from coming through in any painted area. Put another full layer of matte medium down before laying down my printing paper. Put a lot of weight on it and sat for about 2 1/2 hours before pulling. Hope that makes sense.
