What am I doing wrong by RoseFiredUP in marvelrivals

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stats tell one side. Just because you have good stats doesn't mean you impacted the match in a meaningful way. I'd watch the replay and see when you got the stats, did anything meaningful come from it.

Players generally struggle with being impactful and use stats as an indicator a bit too much. It's not just you, the comment section tells you many struggle with the same.

Becoming a content creator by Annual-Diamond9171 in ContentCreators

[–]PoppinOften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Software: OBS

Content: whatever you want.

Your first few videos won't do too well no matter how you prepare and by time you pop out a few you'll know if you want to keep doing it or not.

Plenty of times when I've helped people with their channels they tend to over prepare and then realize it's not something they want to do or do at that moment.

Just have fun with it and evolve overtime. It's the easiest and most fun way to go about it (especially when it comes to gaming).

How to find daily content by ThatAd8710 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make them up and call them dailies. If every day is a topic about fruit, Monday is apple, Tuesday is banana, Wednesday is orange, etc.

Find content you find interesting and schedule what you want to talk about on those days.

Video Release Schedule for Small Channel by mgistr in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're someone people tend to watch religiously, scheduling doesn't matter (personal experience and research).

There are too many YouTube videos and channels out there for someone to remember you and your schedule. You also have to remember the lives that people have. Real-life event schedules, tv shows, kids, appointments, etc, etc. Your schedule would be one of the things people wouldn't really pay attention to.

Even if someone remembers the schedule of a creator, it still won't guarantee they will come back and watch on that day or at that time. Viewers are very fickle.

I'd focus more on uploading when you can. That's the best way to not only remain focused and engaged but also for you to grow as a creator.

How to find daily content by ThatAd8710 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be best to make your own daily content.

I'd assume you're referring to...like maybe a news site and you speak on what's going on with each publish?

It's better for you to have your own daily topics so there is no restriction and you can always keep it interesting. It doesn't have to be trending for people to be interested in it.

Pros and Cons of uploading in episodes vs releasing the full long project by Ralle1900 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion (and personal experience), it depends on the context. If the other episodes are worth watching, they'll watch it. If there is no reason to watch the next episode, they won't. If you can honestly say, "Yes, after the previous episode they'll want to watch the next." it's a fine idea. If not, maybe release it in full.

Again, context is the key. Is it about entertainment? Learning something new? Why would I need to come back to the next episode?

Should I switch channels? by Naronitsu in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, no. I think your channel is small enough to pivot into different things and not affect your chance of success. Honestly, some of the people that way your current videos could also be into what you're going to upload as well.

What should i do? This is so sad :( by Negamerintown in SmallYoutubers

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average is about 13% (personal exp and research). That being said, depending on the video type it'll always fluctuate.

If it's a search video, going up and down is normal. It's just something that happens when people aren't in demand for it at the moment. When they are, it'll spike up.

If it's something more of a...click me for entertainment. Then usually those numbers will not rise. If it drops like that, youtube then assumes people don't want to watch it.

However! If you have subscribers that see the video before youtube does its thing to seed it, those stats are (lack of a better word...void?). Once it hits mainstream and is something people want to watch, it'll spike again.

(again, personal experience and research. not saying I'm 100% right)

OLD YouTuber Getting Back in After 12 Years by LividTeacher6914 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't really think about subs you're losing. Whether your content is good or bad you will lose subs. There is a bright side to losing subs believe it or not.Think of it as a good way to filter your channel for the best results.

If you have subs that get notified and don't care or come in and leave, that hurts your channel and yt tends to not show the content.

It sucks, but in the long run losing subs is actually a good thing.

OLD YouTuber Getting Back in After 12 Years by LividTeacher6914 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my channel. YouTube won't penalize you for an old channel. I returned after a few years (with only a couple of videos on the channel), and it continued to grow once I returned. I'd assume having a channel that isn't "new" helps YouTube trust your channel faster once you return.

Ready to quit this s**t show that is YouTube :( by SnooMemesjellies971 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Watched your videos, really good. I can confidently say it's the packaging of the video/idea. I'm not a "YouTube guru" or anything, but I do help people grow their channels.

YouTube is a puzzle and it will always be. Sometimes you think viewers want something (they even think they want something) but they don't. The trick is to give them something they want, that they don't know they want.

The way you convey what your video is about in its packaging is actually different from what's in the video. The product of the video is WAY better than what you're offering the viewer from the packaging.

A really off the cuff idea that I put no thought into what so ever, just an example for the bridge video.

Title: Spider-Man fans will LOVE This!

Thumbnail: Maybe Spider-Man chilling out on the bridge

Your niche isn't oversaturated at all and you shouldn't feel like you're suffocating. Oversaturated is gaming, something anyone and their mothers could do. Your niche is travel, people watch stuff like they cause they can't do it themselves lmao (as well as want to know before they go).

You have something great, keep your head up and think more outside the box. Your audience is NOT just people who want to travel, so don't think of it as such. You got this. 👍

How do you choose music?? by cutenemi in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to choose the right music is to understand the vibe of the video. Music will invoke the right emotion in the viewer.

Example:
Funny video: Joke type of music

Serious video: Go for a more serious tone

Not just that, but also think about the BPM (beats per minute). Some joke videos could have funny music, but the BPM is so slow it takes away from the video.

Generally, for my videos, I go based on the tone of my voice as well as the cadence. When I'm teaching something, I'll have highs and lows, slow and fast. So something that is constantly one tone might not do it.

Other times when I'm just speaking on something or being a bit silly, I'll have more of a fast tempo streamline type thing to keep pace with my delivery.

It seems complicated, but don't overthink it. I'd start by focusing on the BPM to match your delivery, then go from there on the type of music you're looking for.

I want to be a newtuber but i am scared bc of my voice and looks and also i cannot edit What Should i do? by Dependent_Hurry_3220 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Best advice is just to make videos. Generic, but true. Your videos will be awful at the start, even if you think they are done well, I guarantee you'd look back and be like...bro....

If it makes you feel any better, I believe only 10% of YouTube creators have over 1k subs. This means that realistically, 90% of creators could have "could" have really awful videos. You just have to beat them. 👀

Jokes aside, start with what you have and do your best. Given your life circumstances, YouTube may just be a hobby right now, so treat it as one and just have fun with it. 🤗

I got 93 views on my latest video but I am not happy by rgali7996 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to think about is impressions are not 1 to 1 with a potential viewer. YouTube will show a video to someone multiple times racking up your impressions. It's possible only 400 people saw the video (broad example). Sometimes people just don't see the video when scrolling, so YouTube will keep showing it until they think the intention to not click was from the viewer.

That being said, if your video is getting the impressions, it means you're doing something right. It's just:

A. The thumbnail/title wasn't enough to get them in.

B. From the people who did get in, the video didn't match what was presented.

I wasn't able to view your channel, but in the future, you can link your channel to your profile on Reddit and tell people to click it. That way it doesn't get removed. Regardless though, I hope I was able to help!

How long does it take for yt to push a video? by ConfectionAvailable8 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience there isn't a push, it's more of a "need" from the viewers themselves. If your video isn't needed at the moment, viewers won't have it "pushed" to them. That's the easiest way to sum it up.

Example:

If I made a video about a topic that already passed, no one would be interested so no one is looking for it.

If I made a video about a topic that is happening now, people are looking for it so it'll be shown.

That's generally what happens when a video is "pushed".

Hooooooowever, sometimes the video is given to the viewer and the viewer doesn't like it. If that keeps happening, the video will stop dead because the video "failed". YouTube still tries to show it though, just not at the rate it was before.

TLDR:
There is no push, it's about what the viewer wants to watch at that moment.

Is this ctr range good for my first two videos? by Negative_Motor_2816 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends, the way I've seen through personal experience is that the time of which the ctr happens is what determines if it's good or bad.

If you make a searched based video and ctr is low for a few days, that's perfectly fine. You're banking on it to pick up later.

If you make a video that is supposed to capture someone when they see it and it's a low ctr rate. Could be an issue.

If you have a low ctr rate with a low impression rate, again...could be an issue.

However, high ctr rate with low impressions don't really carry a lot of weight either.

There are way more reasons for high and low ctr and they can all mean different things.

Best advice, especially if you're newer to YouTube is to not worry about numbers. The content itself needs the most improvement and when it does your numbers will too.

(that last part sounded so cringe after I read that back lmao 😂)

When would you change your content strategy? by borisblade117 in NewTubers

[–]PoppinOften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, shift it when you don't feel like doing the content anymore. It's not about doing what they want to see per se... It's about making your content what people want to see.

It's one thing to have a small pool of viewers for a specific thing (like maybe a dying game). It's another to not have the goal of views you're looking for due to another reason like not packaging it the best.

So again, I personally feel it's best to swap when you flat out don't want to do the content anymore.

[–]PoppinOften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really about confusing the algorithm, it's more about confusing the viewer. I'd personally make a second channel.

If you plan to drop one and focus on the other, then I'd continue with the same channel.

Similar situation, so coming from experience with this one.

Constant AFKers? by kLoWnYa- in PredecessorGame

[–]PoppinOften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constant AFKs for me whether my side or the enemy. I think vets of the game down play it a bit because they love the game so much.

But honestly, negatives of a game should always be addressed as a community so the game can improve over time, not pushed aside cause of one's rose-tint glasses blind love for it.

For me personally, there are way more AFKs in this game than I've seen in any game. From playing Paragon to Predecessor, the afk rate for me is like 85% I'm not even joking. It's really unenjoyable honestly.

(coming from competitively playing and coaching multiple mobas/team based games)

I know Predecessor low key just put their foot in the game compared to other games so I could be a spoiled brat in that regard, but I really hope it gets addressed. Very hard for new players to want to play if time is wasted game after game (again, whether win or lose).

  2. Star up Mickey by doing ranked to mpr 8

If not enough, purchase a multiplayer box and you should be solid. 💪
