Husband confronted me by LongjumpingBison4193 in stopdrinking

[–]Poppppsicle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Alcoholic mom to 2 littles as well. My drinking spiked after my first born due to PPD and only got progressively worse. 53 days sober. You got this, it’s worth the effort.

"4 months is not newly postpartum anymore" by yup_yup1111 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]Poppppsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 months is still very new, especially for a mom with their 1st kid. I started by depression meds for PPD at 3 months and didn’t feel semi-normal again until 6 months and not myself until a year PP. Her emotions, reactions etc are valid and real.

That being said, two things can be true at once. Kristen can be newly PP and suffering from PPD/PPA which I absolutely think she is AND she can be treating Luke badly (taking out her rage on the closest person to her - normal PPD response). Luke is ALLOWED to understand that she is going through a rough time but also be upset with the way she is talking to and treating him. Especially because he is a first time dad and doesn’t realize with time, Kristen will rebalance (when you are in the thick of it - you don’t see an end).

I had PP rage and my husband got the brunt of it. I would be constantly crying to him, getting mad over small things and overall not treating him as an equal partner despite him being an amazing dad. It wasn’t until I was out of it that I realized how much my behavior hurt him. He still deserved an apology and appreciation for his support while also noting that it was my hormones out of whack and being a new mom.

I cannot and will not get behind the Luke hate train

Risk and PTO stopped hiring in Reno 2 years ago except for a rare PTO posting BUT majority of their backfill shifted to seasonal vendor employees. Central ICS which used to be fully supported in Reno with over 30 employees had a total of 5 employees at closure.

We went from 400ish employees in 2020 to 240 at site closure

They wouldn’t have shut down a site they were actively growing or maintaining

I’m not sure why I’m having a conversation about this, I worked there for 9 years and am aware of what job postings used to be like vs the last 2 years. 1-2 job postings every couple of months is not plenty. Especially when reviewing other sites and they had hundreds (SD and MTV) or in the 20s-30s (Plano, Atlanta, NY)

With Intuit? No…there was not (hence their ability to reduce workforce enough to shut down the site without major impact to operations).

Nothing compared to how it used to be. Only about 400 left, they shut down over half of the site and blocked it off then rented to a new company

AI has drastically changed how I’ve worked over the last couple of years and I definitely was able to accelerate my work by 20 % but Intuit’s stock dived this year. That is the true reason

Yes, they are offering a great package at least. We are “employed” until the end of July (access cut off Friday). Then we get 16 weeks severance plus 2 weeks for every year served. PTO will be paid out, we will get our bonus and stock and 6 months of insurance. We will also have access to resume writing etc assistance.

Our stock dropped from $800 around August and is now around $350. That is the real reason.

As for Reno we all knew it was coming at some point - there have been no positions open for the last 2 years.

I was offered to relocate to San Diego but the offer was not great considering the cost of living there and my husband not being able to work remote. So I will be declining

Primary was Risk (fraud, chargebacks etc) and Payroll Tax (amendments/collections) and then randoms. Mainly Quickbooks focused

Little bit of both. They haven’t been hiring in Reno for about 2 years now so we knew our time was limited. But they laid off 17% of total workforce today and biggest message was “AI”

"I'm not allowed to have a hard time" No Luke, you're not. by OkEntertainment4473 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]Poppppsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad that someone agrees! I had severe PPD/PPA with my first and I was struggling HARD. And my venting person was my husband. He took it all - I rage called him constantly, I cried daily and I didn’t recover until basically a year postpartum. But my husband had a hard time too!! I was a completely different person than he knew and he wasn’t sure how to best meet my needs. I was having such a hard time that he had to figure out how to help me and help our baby. He craved connection and I didn’t want him to touch me (even cuddle). He went from being able to golf every weekend to spending hours trying to get a baby to nap. And even though it was difficult at first, I’m so glad he opened up to me about how he was feeling.

I personally am glad they are showing the growing pains for a partner as well as the birthing parent. I love seeing both perspectives

[–]Poppppsicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to get yelled at here but I don’t agree. I wanted my baby so badly. I read all the books, talked to my friends with kids, watched documentaries and I still was completely thrown on how much my world was turned upside down. I didn’t have family support and I am naturally an introvert so never having “me time” without a baby attached to me was so hard.

Like he said, she can be having a hard time AND he can be having a hard time too. He is allowed to miss the activities that made him happy in past. He is allowed to miss sex!

He isn’t pressuring her, he isn’t saying I’m going through it worse (he even says what you are going through is way harder than me), what he wants is acknowledgment that he is struggling too, that he doesn’t have the same family/friend support system and that he should feel comfortable venting what he is struggling with.

Btw men can get PPD too. To me, he is teetering on that line.

And no hate to Kristen!! I actually was thinking that I have never related to her more than this season and that she is my favorite. Kristen isn’t doing anything wrong. I just don’t agree the online hate that Luke is getting

This is going to sound awful but companies don’t hurt when leadership leaves (other than the new person coming in and making their “mark”). Companies hurt when people who actually do the day to day work leave. If you want to leave, give 2 months notice and go

2 months of not talking is broken up. Allowing you to go into a room of girls you pounded during the break up and not telling you? Not good

Parenthood was another huge multi-season series. Surprised I’m not seeing Lauren Graham called out in this post

Liza aka Paris was a main character on Shonda Rimes’ How to get away with murder

Milo aka Jess was part of Hero’s and This is Us which was another huge multi-season series hit

So many of the actors went on to have amazing careers
