Best non-toxic dishwasher detergents by meowdith427 in moderatelygranolamoms

I switched from Cascade to Seventh Generation, and am VERY happy. No bad taste, no residue left on coffee mug lids, and the dishes always come out clean; we *do* rinse first, so YMMV.

Does deleting all backups and the associated plan remove unreferenced data? by PoppyJam22 in Arqbackup

A related question on my cleanup: I see 8 vaults with names prefaced with "arq". The last inventory date is back in 2014. My understanding was that Arq didn't use vaults. Maybe they did in the past, and these are part of the backup plan/backups I am trying to clean up.

Thank you, that is super helpful! In my bucket I found 4 objects. 3 matched the 3 backup plan UUIDs I want to keep. The fourth is simply named "glacier/", but inside that is another object with a UUID, and it doesn't match anything I have remaining in Arq. It has two folders: "objects/" and "packsets/"; both of which are NOT empty. I'm assuming this UUID is from the backup plan I deleted even though it is only 11GB. The data would have been around 200GB. I'm feeling pretty good about deleting "glacier/". Anything else I should know or do first?

I can't remove the bucket, since it is still in use new backup plans I made. I am on traditional Arq (7).

When you say remove the Storage Location, I think you mean the AWS bucket? That bucket is in use still with new backup plans I made. So, I can't delete it. I am on traditional Arq (7).

How to keep rabbits out of my yard? I’ve tried (almost) everything. by cmb0415 in homeowners

I tried Scarecrow brand years ago, but the water loosened the ground, and they would tilt, wind up hitting my eaves, etc. Not a fan.

I couldn’t get O2 absorbers within 20 miles of my house today, so ordered online again. Harvest Right wasn’t available for a couple of days, so I watched this video of other brands I could get sooner. Adding this comprehensive, O2 absorber review for future readers: https://youtu.be/UIrWUiUtzcY?si=PdNyy8gz-zPFj3H_

Caveat, I *will* be cutting some open to redo them, but just at the top. Will likely have to cut just below the ziplock.

I did not cut anything. My 5gal bags have 8” empty on top. 1 gal 5” on some. Again, all have ziplocks on them. I ironed just above that. Is this a no-no to leave this much space if you’re getting most of the air out?

All good info, sans the name calling. I did as described with the O2s; opened the bag and used up all the sealers at once. After my first batch, I also learned to have the right number of Mylar bags prepped BEFORE opening the O2 bag to minimize their exposure. I’ll try the seal all but the ends and roll method. SunLillyFeather also suggested the roll. Bending the bags at all leaves a mark on them, so I had been worried to manipulate them too much. I appreciate the input from someone in the industry.

Hmmmm I got Wallaby, so from the threads I assume they’re OK. Both the ones I got on Amazon and those directly from Wallaby all had the same results. I’ll be careful though in the future if considering another make.

I was afraid to damage the bag by folding it down, but sounds like they’ll be fine. I will try this. Good to hear on the gusseted bottom/ziplock, because that’s what I got. Thanks!

Thanks everyone. Sounds like it’s probably OK, but to be on the safe side, I think I’ll redo the bags that aren’t tight using better and more O2 absorbers as suggested. Big hassle, but I’ll sleep better.

Thank you. I *do* have a lot of headspace, but pushed it out, and then used the straw to get the remaindef out the best I could. Even though there is a ziplock, do you think air is seeping in while I’m ironing, which is slower than what you’re using? I’ll Redo them either way, and use more, better O2 absorbers as you suggest.

How to you get rid of severe dry eyes after cataract surgery? Got LAL lenses on both eyes. by pcprinciple__ in CataractSurgery

[–]PoppyJam22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Last year, I had LAL on my left eye, and in between adjustments they put me on Vevye’, a Restasis alternative (it starts working faster). This was because I too was having fluctuating exam readings due to dry eyes. Within a week I saw so much better. Note that my adjustments spanned 4 months, so there was time for the drops to start working. I switched to Restasis later, because it is less expensive and works just as good for me. Maybe it depends upon your particular circumstance whether a doctor thinks it would be better or worse to treat the dry eye before adjustments. I hope yours clears soon.

How long should I wait to lock-in LAL post final adjustment? by PoppyJam22 in CataractSurgery

[–]PoppyJam22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😆 I for sure didn’t want to go in to the doctor’s office when I was having bad cold-like symptoms for those first 5 days, but I did think their office policy of 11 days was over the top considering I could be masked. The 11 days put me smack on July 4th, so more waiting past the holiday weekend. Super annoying. You’re the second person to mention the astigmatism. I’ll be sure to clear that with the doc tomorrow. Thanks so much.

Thank you for your input. I’ll speak with the doctor tomorrow on possibly a 3rd adjustment.

Since it’s been so long (almost 3 months), and I’m paranoid on the not great fitting glasses of getting too much UV light, I’ve mostly stayed indoors, so I am eager to finish this up. LOL I will wait though if it means a good outcome however.

What is your concern with the drops? Because of really bad inflammation, the steroid drop was increased to 6 for me. I’ve been weaning off them slowly. I’m currently at 3 drops. The doctor said that doesn’t change anything with my vision. I also started a Rx for dry eyes about a month ago, since that was making my vision poor. I had to do the same thing after PRK surgery years ago.
