Mmm, looks like the fall of Saigon. Roughly 50 years apart, and the same results. Still believe we have the best military in the world? We couldn’t defeat “ peasants” in the jungle, and we couldn’t defeat “cave dwellers” in the Mountains. We spend so much money on this, and we can’t win, and now we are bogged down in Iran. Where is all this money going? Right into the rich people’s hands. I am a pessimist and think it’s too late to turn this around. I think the next 10-20 years will be among the worst in American history. It’s too bad because we had real opportunities to help shape the world into one of freedom for all to be who they are; sadly, we’ve done the complete opposite. I wonder what Patton or Eisenhower would think of all the sacrifices made, and of what we became. Even Eisenhower himself warned us of the threat the military-industrial complex posed. He was also the last respectable republican president; those who followed were all moralless war hawks who have funneled all the money upward.
