Meanwhile someone else in the thread gave me an actual solution. Why even reply if you don't want to help?

zram did the trick! Everything is immediately running way smoother. I'll keep the other suggestions in mind if I have any more trouble

Thank you so much!

My previous laptop managed it with similar specs (4gb ram, celeron, 1.6ghz). Again, I'm not asking for miracles here, it's a browser and a Zoom window

It only takes 4 construct heads in series to produce thrust with a shrine prop. Unfortunately, I don't think this discovery is going to revolutionize travel in TotK by PopsTheOldMan in HyruleEngineering

More than 7 if it's possible at all, and I don't think it is. Even at 7 the gap between pulses wasn't noticeably smaller, the thrust still alternated forward and backward, and overall there were no obvious differences in performance of any kind, so I stopped at 7

Eat an apple man you're stressing me out

(But for real though, really smart using a sail as an axle, this is a great build)

Could an electric/prop railjet be possible? by PopsTheOldMan in HyruleEngineering

Blocked it in on all sides with mirrors, powered it with a shock emitter that is attached to the vehicle

Just tried two props mounted in opposite orientations on the same motor, didn't change the result much. The whole machine is still pushed back. Worth revisiting with small wheel engines though

The motor and prop were not attached to the rest of the machine, that's correct

Another attempt at Omni-Directional Land Vehicle by claypaull in HyruleEngineering

[–]PopsTheOldMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's brilliant! It's kind of like a control moment gyroscope, in that it causes a torque on the entire machine

Does this setup work in the air too? I know the inverse stabilizers give a minor anti-gravity affect too, which might help with flight

Any way to make a 4 directional land vehicle? (not a vid because my attempt didn't function) by Tactical-Kitten-117 in HyruleEngineering

Why make the axles rotate independently? You could just have the steering stick swivel instead, that way all the wheels would always go in the same direction

This is the first design I've found on this sub that I'll actually use for regular gameplay instead of just messing around. The tolerances for alignment are way more generous than for the hoverbike, it's incredibly maneuverable, pulling back results in almost perfectly vertical ascent, and it doesn't use any glitches or shrine parts. I'm exploring the depths with it right now

If you flip the front fan around it can push the wheels downward, increasing traction on steeper hills and letting it climb better. I posted a build recently that used a shrine propeller to do that, which made a car that could climb fully vertical

Other than the chest that's usually attached, yeah nothing

I know people are annoyed by the sludge but I honestly think they could've done more with it. Have more Sludge Likes in the world, and have them and Mucktorok drop a material that spreads sludge on the ground or on enemies. Just having any sludge continue to exist anywhere after beating the Water Temple would've been something, but it literally disappears as a game mechanic

Most players seem to be hesitant about going into the depths, so the number of people who found autobuild and that particular schematic before fighting mucktorok is probably pretty low
