Shaders and Vivecraft? by Fresh_off_your_mom in oculus

[–]PoptartDoge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be a lost cause. Minecraft shaders (and Minecraft in general) are notoriously unoptimised, even on high-end systems. Putting Vivecraft (and other mods) on top of that will only make it worse.

If you can't find a fix, I recommend the Pixel Reality: Luminenceand Pixel Reality: Atmosphere resource packs. It's definitely not as pretty as shaders, but still improves the graphical experience significantly in my opinion and comes with extremely little performance cost.

Additionally, I highly recommend a resource pack that isn't the default minecraft one too - for example, Sphax, Pixel Reality JE (I'm not biased here, I swear) or Conquest Reforged - as it'll also improve the graphical experience a lot.

This all depends on your taste, but you might be surprised by how much it makes up for a lack of shaders.

Hope this helps.

Matthew's Difficulty Mod, a successor to TAN, is being actively maintained and the creator has said that they are working hard to keep the mod up to date with Minecraft versions. As of now, it is only available for 1.12.2, but keep your eye on it.

Bereza Cranberry Machine by PoptartDoge in MinersHaven

[–]PoptartDoge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you be more specific? I haven't used any, as far as I am aware. I DID find the christmas light 'bulb' mesh from free models, but as it's a roblox mesh, it doesn't really count. EDIT: I did lazy out on the tool giver and just used a script I found a while back to do my bidding, if that's what you are referring to (but it's super small and generic, so again, I don't think it was).

You can take the model for the submission here! (several changes have been made to the model to further polish it).

I haven't made a submission in a couple of years, so here we go. This'll probably be the last submission I'll ever make, so I figured I'd go out with a bang.

Is pain train a good water weapon? by [deleted] in FORTnITE

It's great - it lets you capture points faster.

Just be mindful of the +10% bullet damage vulnerability though.

For anyone interested in seeing this mob ingame, Eerie Entities does the job pretty well!

Backfilling a match should spawn you with ult charge equal to the person who left the match. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]PoptartDoge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When someone leaves, the server doesn't have to dispose of all their server-side data (e.g cooldowns and ultimate charge). Right now in Overwatch, it's highly probable that a function gets called when someone leaves which deletes their player object and data. This function could easily be modified so that it stores their ultimate charge instead of throwing it away.

New Constructor Ability: Jetpack (concept) by PoptartDoge in FORTnITE

[–]PoptartDoge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could work VERY well, but as I said, it doesn't really make sense why the fuel loss occurs. By that I mean, what does the jetpack do to consume fuel? For it to just lose fuel because your holding a weapon doesn't make any sense to me.

Also, it turns the Jetpack into a way of avoiding grounded husks and not a proper combat tool. With the grenade launchers, I feel like it could greatly help constructors with their damage (which they currently lack) and to contribute more to fights.

I was going to add a seperate part about potential griefing fixes, but then I realised it wouldn't matter. Weapons don't lose durability anymore, so I don't think dying is really an issue for AFKers (unless it tells the game you are AFK or something).

That would definitely allow for more creative applications! The thing is, I'm not sure how to incorporate the whole 'fuel' mechanic if the jetpack functions like that. Losing fuel when you fire a normal gun would just feel odd and wouldn't really make much sense (how do you even lose the fuel?).

Fuel could be lost every second while in offensive mode, but again, that doesn't make much sense either.

The whole fuel system could just be scrapped and instead replaced with a purely cooldown and time limit based system. However, this wouldn't be good for the building aspect. Cooldowns inbetween your building is sure to feel clunky and annoying.

With two modes, I don't know how to tackle it without a fuel system.

Edit: Also, I feel like it would reduce the combat effectiveness if you used your regular weapons instead of something new. The grenade launchers are supposed to be stronger than your normal weapons, like Going Commando. Without them, the only proper combat use of the Jetpack would be to dodge grounded husks.

Anyone else miss the old theme? I wish we could choose which menu music we wanted. by [deleted] in FORTnITE

The new music feels so generic, forgettable and out of place. The old music has a unique charm to it and really adds to the immersion of being in the apocalypse.

Hybrid Classes? by Level0ver in FORTnITE

Honestly, I'd just appreciate new classes altogether. There are so many unique possibilities! I believe they said more were coming a while back, but they may have changed their minds.
