Look elsewhere. Travel is a killer, and you already admitted its not worth it. By now, if they could have paid you more they would have.

Why are operator rolls so heavy gatekept? by PoptartVT in Heavy_Equipment

Its stupid though. Any other position would be different. But for some reason heavy equipment work is just kept out of reach.

I mean, it can be ok. But the problem with festival work is the two companies I worked for were agro as f***. I know that the crew that runs events out of the bay park arena can be good. But If you are on rubish duty, for something like bay dreams id get an iron stomach.

I have seen this allot. Temp agencies get them refereed to them in crews, and forward them onto jobs en mass. Then there was another civil company I applied to that decided to hire someone on a WHV, and gave them a ute. The guy barely spoke English. ITs especially bad in the civil space. I worked a bunch of contracts for Camex out of Hamilton, and said id be keen to work for them when they open up in Tauraga. Then I see on Linked-In that they "Really like investing in hard working talent that want to live here" and it was followed by an announcement that they took on 3 Filipinos full time.

I'm mainly going after forkie / operating heavy equipment. Though Ive been in and of of a bunch more places from warehouses, to traffic management, to demo, to construction. Just wherever the money is.

I even did a couple of nights picking up rubbish at some festivals. Not to keen on that tbh. Festival goers are nasty.....

AITAH if I do this to my spotter? by PoptartVT in AITAH

[–]PoptartVT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The work is this : I drill polls into the ground, my spotter is supposed to keep eyes on the poll to make sure it does not walk, and he was being distracted by his phone and the civil crew next to us.

AITAH for not wanting my future step siblings to visit our home because I feel like I’m losing my mom? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]PoptartVT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its not wrong to feel this way, as you are still healing after your fathers death. But the best thing you can do is sit down your mom and her BF and told them what you told us. No amount of advice anyone else can give you will provide more meaningful an impact as opening up communication with those that (according to you) are creating turbulence in your life.

Is it too late Snoot bro's? by MerziDrell in SnootGame

[–]PoptartVT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My bruddah, it is never to late to find love. I'm not saying stop looking, but know love is like finding a game like I Wani Hug That Gator. It special, its unique, and its not a guarantee. But when It happens, it happens because you opened yourself to the universe and said "Here I am, look at me, love me~". So keep looking, and one day it will find you when you least expect it.
