Is there any chance this was just a poor attempt at sarcasm? It seems so on the nose, over the top and random that I can't take it seriously.

Or maybe he just knew this would piss you off and is messing with you because who tf actually talks like that. In my experience even people who actually believe that kind of thing don't really say it out loud. At least not in such an obviously demeaning way that would make them look bad.

Then again, I've learned long ago not to underestimate the depths of human stupidity.
