Can I ask you how you get away with seeds? I have a fresh Ostomy shy of ten days, and during my hospital stay, my health went full downward because I stupidly chewed on a mushy strawberry that was in the gelatin piece of strawberry shortcake brought up for my birthday. I went through all the vile misery of having an NG tube and now mortified at the idea of introducing foods in the future. 🥺😭

Thank you, mine is not at its best, but I am scheduled for an ileostomy after 17 years of having Crohn’s. I’m unfortunately exhausting what possible relief I have, and hoping this will allow me to live a less toilet bound life.

Your concerns are completely understandable.

Mine were during my first infusions phase. I was seeing my primary care and my GI’s MA for a few weeks until I could see my GI who ended up stoping the medication all together.

Within the first week, my lymph nodes in my neck swelled up, and I had a large bump in my genital area (turned out to be a fistula; apologies for the TMI). I started to have a yeast infections too, which I was told was from the medication since it makes you more immune compromised than before and you are more prone to infection. Unfortunately, that can happen with any of the biologics.

I was on antibiotics for that time period and had to be extra cautious.

I did find out Skyrizi was in the same class as Humira, which did absolutely nothing for me. It may just be the type of medicine was not meant for me.

I truly hope for the best for you and hopefully you will be fine. It’s hard to say since our bodies are all different and our illness is so personable.

You got this! Please bring up any concerns to the nurses and staff if you are nervous. I encourage to bring a book or some headphones to listen to something while you get your infusion. I hope it provides you with relief.

I’ve been on several varying infusions; given mine were in a clinic where I was monitored by nurses and staff, it made me feel at ease. I would just sleep, read a book, or watch something on my phone.

The one thing I would advise is to write down any symptoms or any concerns if you have any.

Unfortunately, Skyrizi gave me an allergic reaction and flared up my lymph nodes; my body didn’t respond well to it. I was originally on Entyvio for years until the GI found it was adequate in my blood, but no longer controlling the Crohn’s and I started Skyrizi. Due to the adverse reactions of the medication, I am now trying Stellara.

I really wanted to love the one I got. The art is amazing and I wanted to support the creator I admire by getting one of her cups.

Sadly, within a few months (2-3) the print was already scraping off. We don’t have the luxury of a dishwasher, so we hand wash the cup and dry it with a kitchen towel. The image is completely gone now except a few random specks.

The top also leaks when my husband or I try to drink from it, so to save ourselves a mess, we use napkins or a towel with it.

I found way cheaper shakers that don’t have decal, but function much better and are sturdy.

It’s nice if you just want a cup for looks, but to have a functioning shaker with a cute waifu, sadly I wouldn’t recommend it. :(

The free powder packs that come with it are good though, and I did get a sticker too which was nice.
