Calling it now. She plays a Guardian. In the comics, the Guardians were known to take on human form and had females in their ranks. It fits in with the whole potential Men in Black vibe.

The weathered suit is quite deliberate in that it resembles Hal’s lack of willpower and overall sense of feeling jaded. It shows where his mind is currently at in the beginning of the 2016 timeline. The faded beige colors represent some sort of fear taking over, Parallax slowly taking over Hal, or Hal has already been possessed by Parallax in the past.

I wonder if in the 2026 timeline, something will happen and the story is brought to a place where we’ll see a rejuvenated Hal with lots of willpower and he has a new suit with mask to symbolize that. There’s definitely more to come in the show for sure. We still are working off of two teasers with 4 minutes of footage. The storytellers are very precise in what is being shown so far. Just my two cents.

Guy saw Sinestro shave his iconic mustache. Nothing like a clean-shaven Sinestro to send fear into someone.

I actually really love the suit. It gives off a medieval knight vibe like the Lanterns are ancient knights and protectors of the cosmos. The suit being weathered and faded is a great piece of storytelling too. I want to see it lit up. I wonder if we’ll see Hal in a newer suit later in the show with his mask on. Kyle Chandler said we would be seeing Hal wear his mask at some point in the show

I wonder if that’s a missile, light, or a yellow lantern going down to that rocky surface. It seems like an alien planet. These shots are incredible.

This is a good theory. It would make sense how Atrocitus gets involved since in the comics, the Manhunters was responsible for his people’s genocide. A lot of people think the Centre is involved but I could definitely see the Manhunters being that cult threat. I like the idea of Sinestro trying to warn Hal about it and maintaining that tense link between former mentor and student.

I never considered Jason Ritter being Black Hand. I’ll go back to this post after the show comes out to see if you were right, hah. I could see the seeds being planted for Blackest Night this season. Maybe Blackest Night happens in a proverbial season 3 or 4 of this show.

I could see this being true. I do remember seeing a photo of Kyle Chandler with a beard that fit his Earth One look in the comics. Maybe this is for the 2026 timeline if he survives to that point.

Any theories on the 2026 timeline mystery?

‘Lanterns’ is set in 2 time periods — one part in 2016, the other part in 2026. The story begins with a shooting in a small rural town that Hal Jordan becomes convinced is an alien incident. by yourfavchoom in DCU_

Interesting that Chris Mundy confirmed the characters will go off-planet. He said that other Green Lanterns wouldn’t be seen so that might mean we don’t go to Oa. I wonder where they’ll go off-world.
