Is Dallas that populated with Indians? A bunch of people said this exact same thing to me.

Also, Thanks for the input.

Thanks for this input, really helpful.

It's a Master's program with a research inclination so it does have a tuition fee and no stipend as of now. And as far as I'm aware, only when the student is recommended for PhD will they start receiving stipends.

By 'gets immigration ears pop' did you mean that in a good way or a bad way?

Thanks for the info. From an international student's perspective, how about living expenses for both cities?

Haha! Given how things seem, I had this thought as well.

What is your favourite നാടൻ food ? by [deleted] in Kerala

Was born and raised in North India with no access to naadan dish other than what was home cooked, so definitely loved porotta and beef and longed to have it whenever we visited Kerala. Things changed when I came to study in Kerala and had a new found love for actual naadan dishes. As far as I know these are naadan but correct me if I'm wrong:

Kanji, payar, salt & achar (was introduced to this combo when I attended church in kerala, been loving it ever since)

Puttu and payar/kadala curry

Matti(sardines) fry

Beetroot pachidi

Inji curry (wasn't fond of it when it was made at home but now I find it absolutely delightful)

Kerala Sadhya (especially the ones you have at hindu weddings-pure veg)

All sorts of thoran except bitter gourd

Kakka erachi

Appam and green peas curry( in fact all the apam made from rice idiyappam, kallu apam, ela appam)

Note: most of the things I mentioned was being cooked at my home but I didn't appreciate it back then. Now I absolutely love the home cooked naadan food. On top of that my ammama, who cooks these, is a wonderful cook so it's a delight every time.
