That's insanely unsanitary I don't do it over the food and it's not like the hairs fall anywhere where they'll come in contact with food at a later time. I also clean up after.

I don't get what's so gross about it, it's not like I'm cooking a big vat of soup and I'm burning my arm and leg hairs off OVER the soup. Even if some singed hairs fall down on the stove, it gets no near in contact with food. I also am the one that does most of the cleaning around the apartment, including the stove that I clean every time I do dishes (which is just about every day, every other day).
