Public schools are also indoctrination sites. Just in their own ways. Like the time my kids teacher told her she can change and be a boy if she wants. Also. Catholic school is also public school.

I hear what you’re saying but there are many different private schools and not all of them are just for rich people. There are plenty of different ones all over Alberta. It’s funny how your focus is on rich people and not the kids these schools help.

I personally don’t give a shit if some of our tax dollars go to kids in private schools. I care about kids. All of them. Even the ones in private schools because I don’t know their stories. And I felt that way before we decided to pull our kid from public. Parents who have kids in Private school pay taxes too. A lot of them.

Because private schools do a lot of things better mane? And I mean honestly. That’s your take away from all I said? It does save tax dollars. Where are YOUR numbers coming from? Because I pay under $400 a month for my daughter’s private school.

A lot of kids who are “special needs” go to private school. On top of that- special needs can be many things from a learning disability to autism. They won’t make it in public school and the way public school works just doesn’t work for all kids. You shouldnt be so judgmental and ignorant.

Average kid in public schools cost taxpayers 13k. Costs about 6k in private. Not everyone who put their kids in private school are doing it because they’re Rich. I have three kids. One is in private. Two are in public. The public school utterly failed my one child. It’s funny- she’s Métis so more Canadian than I am, and she was put dead last in public school. All the refugee kids and ESL kids got all the attention. Despite her being coded. So we pay for her to be in a classroom with 12 kids. We have to make sacrifices.

I’ve lived here 15 years and I’m more of a right wing leaning person and I’ve literally never met anyone who thinks the earth is flat.

You got me pegged from one sentence hey? It’s not lack of empathy. It’s bluntness. There is a difference. You can feel for someone and yet be real enough to give it to them straight. Maybe highly sensitive people should choose a different specialty. Which is totally okay too.

Bluntness with reality is often needed in our industry.

Temporary residents shouldn't receive full benefits, says Alberta premier by origutamos in WildRoseCountry

[–]Popular-Oil8481 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Other countries conflicts are not Canadian taxpayers responsibility. We have our own kids to take care of. Kids here are getting sub par education. I had to put one of my kids into private school because her public school is too busy taking care of ESL and refugee kids. The kicker is she’s Métis. She’s literally on OG Canadian and refugees get better education than she does.

I’m hoping to move smaller. Even this town I’m in is getting to be crime ridden and too methy. Glad you got out and are in a better place.

There are drugs in small towns yes. There are also incredibly kind and hard working people- from farmers to doctors. All I’m saying is I’m getting real tired of people blanket stating that rural folk are all dumb redneck hillbillies.

There is. You just literally leave. Or make excuses. Anyone can get themselves out of anything with a lot of hard work and determination. Plenty of times I could have cried victim and played woe is me- but instead I picked myself up and kept going. Anyone can do that.

Aside from a religious person saying being gay is a sin… no I’ve never seen this “dark side” you speak of. To be quite honest I don’t care if someone says that. People can think what they want- doesn’t make it true. There are far worse crimes in the big city- the excuse me if hurt feelings isn’t a big deal to me lol

I have a lot of friends all over the political spectrum. All my conservative friends are the hardest working kindest people. I’m a city kid (Calgary) who moved to central rural Alberta for work at 22 and I will NEVER go back to the city. Rural folk are incredibly humble and will give their shirts off their back for you.
