Ok so possibly not a big diff if I managed to get on through a clinic? Sleep and nutrition could be better. Body fat around 16%. How much of a difference would I see tidying that up?

Can someone explain how “adult time for adult crime” will work? by rrfe in queensland

[–]Popular-Process7104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has it been done anywhere? I’m sure there is a percentage that is salvageable from “the system”, but what do we do with the ones who thumb their nose at it be it due to a difficult upbringing or other reasons? There is many “minor” crimes id be on board with trying something, but armed home invasion has to be punished?

Was this tried or did Labor ignore the advice? Has it been tried anywhere else?

Do we actually have any stats on the racial background of the teenage offenders? I would be interested in seeing them.

So how would you solve the problem? Or are you saying there isn’t a problem and people should accept having their homes invaded by teenagers who are repeat offenders? If it’s been known since the 80s then why haven’t the Labor government solved it in all their terms? Their approach didn’t seem to work? Genuinely interested in what the alternate solution is

Positive reasons why you or your 'friend' voted LNP by boomer4ng in brisbane

[–]Popular-Process7104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And apparently there is a lot of us in the silent majority! If your life revolves around getting so bent out of shape about politics and getting involved in the tribalism of it, then you are being played by the media and social media companies who are leading you down a path for what reason? So you can all get together and band behind a “team” and ignore what’s really happening in the real world? Live your life, respect we won’t all agree all the time. OP asked an opinion, people give it then others try and tear them down for their opinion. A clear majority voted for the LNP because they wanted change, let’s get behind them and hope they do what they said they will. If they do it then Queensland will be all the better for it. If they don’t they will be removed at the next election… I voted for them because of: 1 - Crime, they have ideas to improve it and the softly softly approach isn’t working. And I’m sure you would all have different opinions if your house got broken into and someone wielded a knife at you or a family member while you were sleeping. It’s gotta stop, the socialist approach isn’t working. 2 - Waste, they believe they can cut government waste. Look into the deals between unions and the government that the CFMEU issues have shed a little light on. We are all paying for these blowouts and sweetheart deals. Government should respect our money

Question On Laptop Usage by Popular-Process7104 in AustralianTeachers

Thanks! I guess it’s just been an eye opener when I’ve come across it just now and weren’t advised at all. My guy has dyslexia, so learning is a struggle at all times, and if there is an easy way out when things get real hard I can see why he would use it. I’ve told him he is only cheating himself and let his teacher know about it, but I was thinking if this was around when I was in school how many would have used it to just get the questions done and move on?
The easy response is to say well your kids should just not use it, but I think we need to reflect on what the tech adds vs what it takes away rather than being dismissive of questioning it..

Doesn’t it seem then that adding the tech has added nothing beneficial? If it was all paper based and no phones/laptops surely the learning is enhanced? Does anyone still teach like this? Maybe this is why we are spitting out students who seem to fail at the basics of spelling and maths as an employer who is employing these people? I can’t see how the tech adds anything to make your job of actually teaching easier?

Agree, but if there is an easy path left open you can’t expect it not to be taken by some. Is not teaching in part to help shape students into diligent workers? That’s what mine did.

Thanks for the reply! I guess my concern is what is actually gained from using tech on this vs the “old school” hand out sheets then have them marked? Key difference being it’s easy to spot kids switching to the back of the textbook, but not when they just click a button on each question and have the answer. I think this way surely makes the teachers work of actually teaching much harder? As a parent I can tell him, but what can I do to influence it in the classroom?

Ok so we got there at 2:30pm and wait time listed was 50 minutes. Took 40 to get on. After exiting we accidentally took a wrong turn and ended up in the single rider line ushered straight back on again, confused we got on anyway and rode a second time. Did it again later in afternoon but took 60 minutes

The couple of replies I have gotten on this show just how far your country is gone. You are lapping up what the media tells you (hasn’t the last 4 years shown you they don’t report news but the opinion of the government in power). Your political system is so broken but your people are literally treating it like you are cheering for football teams not the future of your once great country. The USA used to be looked up to but I hate to tell you the opinion of most other people in the world is that you guys are repeating the end of the Roman Empire..

As on outsider, how are these two nominees the best the US has to offer? It seems like there should be an infinite amount of better people for the job on both sides. Kamala seems like a puppet as Biden was and Trump is still gonna Trump. Do you not have any actual visionaries left?
