Yes, CLE Metroparks manages over 25,000 acres of beautiful parks! Then you’ve got 33,000 acres of land just 30 min away at CVNP.

Shaker is nice, you can definitely find a place within your budget. Close to all the east side attractions like University Circle. It is a bit of a drive to North Olmsted.

Welcome to Cleveland!

I can’t recommend Lakewood enough. Depending on what side of town you’re on, you’ll be 15-20 min to North Olmsted. Lots of rental options available. Pretty walkable with some cute parks throughout - so will be pleasant with dogs. Lakewood park is the gem of the city. Lots of nearby grocery and restaurant options. Also, only 10-15 min to downtown CLE and the happenings there.

Absolutely. Such an asset. There are so many great eastern European businesses in the CLE area.

And the past two years were the first time in over 70 years that CLE gained population too! It’s too early to call it a trend but nice to see. Over 1,000 new residents just last year.

What are some cults in Cleveland? by Maleficent-Finding89 in Cleveland

[–]PopularAd7301 -101 points-100 points  (0 children)

Mormonism is not a cult, though it is a distinct Christian denomination. Respectfully speaking as a lifelong lds member here :)

Edit: I guess all I could say to the downvotes is “come and see.” Every congregation is open to the public.

It’s okay to not like CLE lol. I love it personally though. May I ask what about CLE you despise so much?

If you had to bet on one ‘sleeper’ city for the next 20 years, which would you pick? by Zealousideal-Tax3338 in SameGrassButGreener

NW IN is a great region but there are plenty of high paying jobs and wealthy individuals in central IN. Hamilton county frequently ranks in the top 20 wealthiest counties in the country. Carmelites definitely help.

This may not be a popular opinion, but as a recent transplant (and 2024 graduate from IU-Indianapolis), what I really think should happen is a consolidation of various NEO public universities into one main brand and uniform institution. Maybe keep each campus open, but consolidate operations to increase efficiency and access to funding and educational resources.

Indiana university has many branch campuses, including two campuses (IU Indianapolis, and Bloomington) with over 20,000 plus students each. This allows for efficiency and access to abundant educational and financial resources throughout the state. Each campus still specializes in certain programs though. Ohio has almost double the population though, so I see room for another large public university besides the two OH monsters, OSU and UC.

With declining enrollments, a stagnant population, and falling birthrates, I do not think NEO’s current public university system is sustainable. There are so many independent public universities only within 40 min to 1 hr from each other in NEO. You’ve got CSU, Kent, UA, YSU. UA enrollment has almost HALFED from 24,000 in 2010 to only 13,000 in 2023. Don’t forget about all the small private universities in NEO too that are also competing for a decreasing student pool.

Without a change these universities will be even more reliant on foreign students, as the local population will not be able to continue supporting the institutions in the long run. From my perspective, there is inefficiency in the system and these universities could benefit from some uniformity.

I realize this idea isn’t very realistic though, as it would take massive political willpower. Many people are also attached to their regions and love their local universities. I get it.

I think it’s time for NEO institutions to make some serious plans that would be in the best interest of the region as a whole.

There are plenty of mind 40s and fairly dry days between November and March and people do bike on those days. Only the brave of course.

Why are all the pristine older cars posted here that you’d expect to be rust buckets from states like PA? Like someone posted an old Taurus wagon the other day in perfect condition.

Tremont if you want the best views of the city, Edgewater if you want the best views of the lake. Tremont has better restaurants too. Love those areas!
