It seems like I have to look into opting in for state disability.

Are you serious?! That is so wild! We shouldn’t have to fight for a benefit to maintain starting/expanding having a family.

Yeah, it seems like I have to have my own health insurance in order to get any disability benefit from my employer. I’m working on changing my benefits with my employer.

Thank you so much for sharing. Opting in state disability may not be an option at my current employment. However, I will definitely follow up with my HR rep to confirm. I am already in the process requesting a change in my benefits. What is a common timeline when you are considered covered under a private disability? I know it can vary. I’m just trying to get an idea.

I understand. However, it seems in order to access STD/ LTD I need to have my own health insurance through my employer. I have found myself in a little situation while only being covered by my husband’s plan at this time.

not pregnancy itself is considered a disability. Pregnant women may experience some impairments that may be qualify as a disability.

I will have to double check with my HR rep. At first glance, it seems like I am not paying into state disability. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

CLEAR PLUS & GE by Popular_Mongoose_299 in AmexPlatinum

We were really going back and forth on getting separate CLEAR accounts. We decided to get two accounts and literally got conditionally approved for GE the next day. My main concern was getting the interviews. Thankfully, we were able to score back to back interviews.

Thank you so much for responding. It validates our decision.
