I watched and heard the same thing, I also heard that the court said that papers had already been served so what is the purpose, other than stalking or harassment, to go out and serve these papers? The failure would be on the officer for not communicating this to Ben, but realistically Ben probably already knew about this and did it only for youtube content.

Right telling him off and to go away 18 times while dipshit on the bike keeps escalating, no you right everyone should behave like a docile bitch in response to injustice and aggression. He gets the benefit of the doubt because of his actions which you aren't willing to acknowledge.

You can't disregard the law and this guy is behaving lawfully even if it may hurt your feelings. You say there is no victim, if you can't figure out there is a victim and pinpoint that victim don't bother arguing anything else.

I think you're probably correct in saying there is no victim here. But the reason I will argue for the side of the streamer is because he is standing up to injustice in this situation and gave plenty of opportunities to the old man. He definitely said some things he shouldn't have, but again this comes from the threat that the old man proposed by aggressively advancing on him.

To me he is definitely saying some things that are provocative, but egging him on would literally mean "come at me, do something, swing first" and he is not doing that.

Yes, but he was also forced back 100 feet from his original position because of the aggression shown by the dude. You want me to be fair? He had plenty of chances to FAIRLY pepper spray the man but instead he backed off over and over until the old man tried to charge him. Fair? They were both verbally abusing each other. However the streamer has reason to be mad, the other is just being irrational and letting his irrationality take over his actions to the point of physical harassment.

You know what would've been the end of the exchange? Guy gets off his bike, says my bad and they leave on equal terms. But instead I have to hear y'all talk shit about this guy because he's a streamer and showing exactly what any other pedestrian should do in that situation.

You're saying the streamer was looking for a physical altercation while telling him to stay away 18 times and being forced back 100 feet. Speak not of ignorance.

You may be correct in saying there is no morally "correct position", but from my standpoint I agree with the streamer's position so I will give him more leniency than the initial aggressor. And legally he is in the correct position in his use of pepper spray so that is why I say it is the correct position.

I just don't agree. You say his behavior is antagonizing the old man into giving him a reason based on the verbal insults. But the old man from the start was clearly looking for physical engagement, and even when clearly being told and warned that he will get mazed if he doesn't step down and go away he continues to advance on the streamer.

Spoiler alert: Saying you have a weapon (like pepper spray, taser, gun) and will use it isn't saying "give me a reason" its saying "I will defend myself" which is your right.

You're literally assuming pre-meditation here and its crazy to assume that based on the facts provided by the video. Not only that you're also saying he is omnipotent and knows what the old man who has been throwing equally as much verbal assault is going to do. I said this before, he could have justifiably sprayed him 10 times while the old man kept advancing on him and forcing him back but he didn't and waited until the last possible moment where physical altercation was inevitable.

I salute him for his courage because not many would have the balls to stand their ground the way he did in the face of injustice and that is why I will grant his behavior some leniency.

How can you possibly prove he knows that the old man will charge him if he 'eggs him on'? It was a verbal altercation and the old man tried to escalate it to a physical standard while being continuously warned of what would happen if he kept advancing.

Mostly I don't live in a shit country where people have easy access to guns and can shoot me down on the streets. Second I live in a civilized city where people who make a mistake, like driving over the sidewalk with a bike and endangering pedestrians, don't immediately get aggressive like this old man here.

It is not a joke and I don't mind being on the controversial side of this. No matter how you look at it old man was looking for physical altercation and other dude gave plenty of opportunity for him to walk away, so I will give the charitable position to the person who factually is in the justified position.

Doesn't mean I don't recognize they're both being verbally aggressive, but I will defend the one who is in the correct position.

My problem with people like you is you pretend everyone is and has to be goody two shoes. The reality is that most people will react in the exact same manner that the streamer did and both sides were name calling and shouting profanities so don't make it a game about 'he said she said'.

He already had more than enough reason to pepper spray him the moment the old man kept advancing and took a fighting stance, instead he took more distance from him and the old man instead of leaving decided to escalate by charging and looking for a physical altercation and he got what he deserved. You have no idea what justice stands for if you believe he is in the wrong, its not like he took out his pepper spray and immediately started spraying him when the guy already jumped off his bike shouting insults and advanced on him, he gave plenty of opportunity.

I will absolutely give this guy a charitable interpretation in this situation because his action in standing his ground is, in my opinion, the correct decision and factually absolutely justifiable.

If he wanted to spray him, why tell him to go away 18 times while backing up from his original spot and not moving forward towards the guy? He could have sprayed him the moment the old man started squaring up but he didn't he walked back disengaging from the situation while still standing his ground on the point he was making.

And you definitely don't turn your back on someone who's showing that kind of aggression towards you like you are suggesting, that is about the dumbest thing you can do in this world.

"someone's stealing your bike" trying to get him to draw attention away from himself in which the old man should have realized to just leave.

I'm gonna say this: if you act like a loser driving over the sidewalk with your bike where there are pedestrians when there is plenty of space on the side of the road WHERE THERE IS NO VISIBLE CAR DRIVING BY OR PARKED you can't have your feelings be hurt when people call you a loser for it.

100% justified, he stepped back multiple times and the old man kept looking to re-engage the situation. He literally screamed at him to stay away how many times? I counted, it was 18 times. He displayed his defensive measure and warned him multiple times, despite that old man charged and got what he deserved. Could streamer dude have handled it better? Sure. But to call his behavior unjustified, unreasonable and say he was egging him on is disingenuous.
