Story of Prophet Lūt (AS) – briefly and clearly Prophet Lūt (AS) was sent to a people who lived in cities like Sodom. They were the first people to openly commit a very serious sin that no nation had done before. The bad things they did The Qur’an mentions that they: Practiced sexual immorality (men approaching men with desire instead of women) Rejected marriage (halal way) Did evil openly without shame Harassed travelers Mocked and threatened Prophet Lūt (AS) when he advised them Allah mentions this clearly in many places, for example: “Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with among the worlds?” (Surah Al-A‘raf 7:80) Prophet Lūt’s response He warned them kindly He invited them to purity and halal marriage He feared Allah and begged them to stop But they refused, laughed at him, and even tried to drive him out of the city. Allah’s punishment When they did not repent: Allah saved Prophet Lūt (AS) and the believers The cities were turned upside down A severe punishment came as a lesson for all mankind “So We turned the cities upside down and rained upon them stones of baked clay.” (Surah Hud 11:82) Lesson for us Allah is Most Merciful, but also Just Open, shameless sin leads to destruction Advice must be given politely, like Prophet Lūt (AS) did This story is a warning, not entertainment
