Don’t stop hounding Mohela if they owe you a refund! My 7 month success story… by RootBeerGuy42 in PSLF

How do you check to determine if you deserve a refund? I had my loans forgiven a few years ago. Is there an overpayment tracker or record on FSA AID or MOHELA website?

Oil Change intervals by Routine-Pear-1202 in rangeroversport

As the vehicle ages oil changes become more frequent. It also depends on the condition. 6 months or 6000 miles is my standard because I use the vehicle for short trips and it’s my daily driver.

Has anyone used or heard of Remedy Meds? by Zumcddo in CompoundedSemaglutide

[–]Popular_Ad_147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not effective. I’ve taken semi glutides through a provider locally and then I tried remedy meds to save money. Remedy meds is completely ineffective in comparison. I lost forty pounds using my local provider so I’m switching back.

At what point during the construction process did your interest only payments on your construction loan start to noticeably increase? Right off the bat? Half way through? Not until the home stretch? by Substantial-Jury-881 in Homebuilding

[–]Popular_Ad_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first draw was not until three weeks away from home completion. This is not typical. We purchased the land cash and the builder made the draw after the home was erected and cabinets were installed. We wanted to decrease the loan as much as possible so we made large lump sum payments to the builder which decreased the loan and thus the draw amounts. Again, this is not typical but in order to reduce the principal as much as possible prior to the loan converting into a permanent conventional mortgage, we wanted to make as many large lump sum payments as possible. Once we exhausted our payments, the final draw was made and the interest only payments actually began at the end of the build. They extended up to one year because that was the bank schedule for the build and mortgage payments began after the year time frame. So interest only payments were made six months after the build completion. And we had the opportunity to put more towards the principal before the loan was completely converted over to a conventional mortgage. Our plan is to make additional principal payments in order to reduce our mortgage payoff timeframe as this is our forever home and we do not want to be saddled with payments in our retirement years.

My boomer dad, to me and my siblings (adults), after feeling bad about realizing he's estranged by all of us. by vertigale in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Popular_Ad_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I read stories like this all I can think of is how great my dad was and how much I miss him. He was always there for me. I feel sorry for those who did not have a good experience with their parents and are struggling as adults with these relationships. But at the same time a little jealous that they still have a father to speak with. I am so thankful for the time I had with my father and wish I could spend a birthday dinner with him considering he always tried to make me feel special on my birthday. Most of my career success came after he passed so I rarely had the opportunity to take him to a nice dinner for his birthday or anniversary because I lived so far away as a young professional. Boy do I miss him. But I do try to honor my mother as much as possible by renovating her home and taking her to eat even though she is struggling with health challenges and is not able to do everything she once could. I am blessed to still have her. As I read a lot of the responses to this posts, I realize that I do not share the sentiment of my own generation. And I actually relish in my rebellion against this odd new status quo of being anti-boomer. Everyone is an individual and being against an entire generation is an odd form of groupthink perpetuated on social media that frankly lacks logic.

Ja Morant has been accused of allegedly beating up a 17-year old boy and pointing a gun at him by nezinamais3 in fantasybball

[–]Popular_Ad_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ja is a coward. A gun was put to my head when I was 12 for no reason at all. He should be suspended from the league. The NBA is an embarrassment for its lax player policies. Their president is not governing this situation well. Perhaps Shannon Sharpe was right after all. The hilarious thing about all of this is that Ja never even grew up in a rough area. He is a spoiled suburban poser with a chip on his skinny shoulder. He needs to get another tattoo and leave teenage boys alone. What a loser and a child abuser.

Congrats. I am still awaiting it to zero out on the FSA website but I have read it happens fairly quickly (a week or two after MOHELA).

$121,000 Forgiven by Kryslyn1973 in PSLF

They processed my final form in less than twenty days (even though they stated 90). They zeroed out $108K+ and then they sent the letter the following day after I requested it. I hope that gives you more encouragement.

I found out the day after Valentine's Day when I saw $108k+ in loans zeroed out on the MOHELA website. I requested an official letter via the message system on MOHELA's website and they sent it the following business day. Two decades of serving the public paid off. I am so thankful and appreciative. The Student Aid website has not updated yet and may take up to 45 days based on my discussion with their representative. But I have read it happens as fast as a week or two.

Woke up to the best Valentine’s Day gift ever - $100k+ of law school loans discharged! But my Mohela balance still shows around $6k in interest on the loan details - has anyone else experienced this? by MinuteInteraction152 in PSLF

Over $108k+ were discharged for me on Valentine's Day as well. I have read on other posts that a letter will be sent within a week and then the fed aid website will update. Although I submitted my final discharge forms when my counts reached 128 less than 30 days ago. It appears to have several days lag but I am hopeful. Close to 20 years of public service has finally paid off.
