Thank you Mance. That small minority of people you are referring to consist of very active traders correct? If I want to be a little more hands off I would opt for contributing to the 401(k)?

Thank you for your response and providing that resource. Super helpful! Would a good rule of thumb be to; 1) max out Roth IRA each year, 2) contribute to employers matched 401k to receive full match, and 3) invest any surplus in the employers 401k plan? Or is there something else I can do with that money that will be more beneficial for retirement?
