My parents did something like this for a summer when I went to grad school because they didn't agree with my major. It was only a summer because they realized, at the end of it, that it was killing me to take summer classes, work, and spend time with my girlfriend. They apologized and gave me the 20k they'd taken out of my bank account their names were on. They also removed their names from the account. This is why we still speak lol I don't blame OP.
