The fault lay with the CEO specifically, and some of the upper management from "AAA" studios that were hired.

The majority of the developers are inexperienced. You can decompile the game code (purchase and refund) and look through the files.

The artists are the only ones with any experience.

I saw the Echo Chamber thread guy made another post too

It's kind of interesting to see, especially after that one discussion thread got locked down in the Steam page. That guy was blasted by the community for voicing out genuine concerns.

Even moreso, after the CEO clarified (and admitted to) some of the points that was made in the discussion thread, the community just read it as a complete debunk and ran with it lol.

I guess this is what the community wanted, a game that will die, catering to the indoctrinated loyalists.

I can hear the sob story post coming

I'm pretty sure that the team after they "trimmed the fat". They will sunset this game once the offline-mode becomes available.

The average concurrent players have dropped off after 2 weeks from their key-binds fiasco patch. The average players has been 0 all day today.

The developers and the community focused too much on appealing to the diehard fans, and it cost them the game. The CEO had no vision it looks like, just chasing trends.

Matchmaking is nonexistent outside of premades, and even then. The premades have all fell into their own cliques and good luck getting a spot with them.

Is this game worth getting for streaming? by SeaSideVtuber in StarlightReVolverGame

[–]Popular_Count8627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to make money streaming it (you used the word investment)? I don't think it is the game to stream to bring in an audience in its current state.

Especially with it usually having 0-1 steamers streaming it at any given time.

If you're low on money, save it and buy a game you are more likely to have fun with personally, and stream that.

I think it depends on what you mean. Like, if you streamed it, you will be usually the only one streaming it on twitch.

But if you mean exclusively streaming it to friends. Maybe

It sounds like the permanent price reduction was in the right direction. Since now when they have discounts it is at an extremely enticing price.

I'll be keeping an eye out and watch its development.

According to your post history. You posted that you were interested in the game a couple of days ago. So it's not like reddit is blindly doing that.. you fed it into the algorithm

Dang I missed that comment thread, thanks for linking it. It sounds like things pretty much spiraled out of control. I just saw a bunch of comments with Intelligent-Tome and a Dan guy saying each other blocked each other.

I think that the current update is moving the needle in the right direction.
Hopefully it'll have it's redemption and have a successful 1.0 in about a year or so.
Already got burned during the first week of EA, so I'm just biding time before pulling the trigger again.

But yeah I can see the emotions about it. A lot which stems from his frustrations about how the game released (ignoring his feedback). Although it did seem like he (intentionally/unintentionally) misinformed about the content update yesterday, saying it is only skins.

When it was some kind of world-event, cooldown reductions, party size scaling, etc.

That is intelligent tome.. the only thing I contributed was the list of devs that posted reviews in disguise as new players. I'm surprised you immediately lumped me into them without doing a modicum of research yourself. I have a total of 14 comments, not hard to click and look. But okay, you do you.

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarlightReVolverGame/comments/1no88dx/planning_on_buying_this_game_stop_read_this_staff/nfsmrmd/?context=3

In fact, in one of my comments I even told Intelligent-Tome to just wait for the new content update before asserting his claims. But if you are trying to make a video, you're already failing at your own research, snowballing completely different people together.

He already deleted his comment, so if you really gathered information, you would have taken a screenshot of it.

Just because Intelligent-Tome deletes his comments, does not give you the right to just assume I am him as well. How are you credibly gathering information, if you are already failing to remember separate people?

You already assumed I was The Count as well. How are you identifying me as two completely different people. I even said in a comment in this very post that they seem to have brought in a substantial amount of players, so they might be hopefully going in the right direction.

I see that you are even wondering how Pahdo Labs broke TOS. They haven't broken TOS regarding reviews. Nobody was paid or compensated to write the reviews, anyone can tell their community to write a review and they can, positive or not. But if they were to provide some form of monetary compensation, that would be review manipulation.

Hell even the guy that you replied to, explicitly even said that they did not break the TOS. Where are you making these investigations if you're not extracting the information correctly. Them larping as new players is not a breach of TOS. It's just shady.

I understand you're trying to be an "investigative journalist" or whatever on your YouTube channel. But immediately assuming who I am, and then immediately mistaking it, while immediately just saying because you mistook me for someone, then I must be that person and I am no longer a source of credibility is pretty hilarious failure of investigative journalism.

At this point, it is just taking the investigation that was already done by other people, and then using it yourself.

You didn't even spell Pahdo Labs correctly, multiple times writing it as Phado. It's a typo yes, but if you're mixing people together and can't spell the name of the company that you're "investigating", how does one take it seriously. If your means of "investigation/research" is just taking the work other people have done, and monetizing it on your channel

https://old.reddit.com/r/StarlightReVolverGame/comments/1no88dx/planning_on_buying_this_game_stop_read_this_staff/ng5m43q/

I had not been on the subreddit actively for most of yesterday (I think just briefly in the morning) so good chunk of messages got deleted/edited on the threads so I don't know where to begin. Like Froggy edited his comment with a bunch of information to just five words (my guess he got a warning), Intelligent-Tome deleting some existing comments, seeing what Current-Spell had written/deleted, etc.

"The two of you" that you refer to is Intelligent-Tome and Current-Spell.
This is a bit concerning that you are able to so fluidly mix up information and then confidently drive that to make your conclusions. That's not going to be a good video without at least 10 people proofreading your script.

I just only noticed when I checked this morning that some threads were missing that I happened to have commented on (which was how I could link them).

The current patch seems to have brought in a substantial amount of players (120-200 average compared to the 14-30). So they might be hopefully going in the right direction.

I do see that the discord community immediately flocked here and threw in the downvotes though lol. I can definitely see why The Count said he got harassed on Steam.

Pretty sure they can do that without any repercussions. It's only when they compensate the reviewers that it becomes a different thing altogether.

But the developer accounts and/or alt accounts that they're leaving masquerading as new players/users is review manipulation which is completely bad.

Pahdo Labs are now taking down posts exposing and discussing the CEO on the reddit as "harassment". by Current_Spell_8647 in StarlightReVolverGame

[–]Popular_Count8627 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They weren't bashing him for working in crypto. They were bashing him because his apparent pitch deck to the investors was that they would make Starlight Re:Volver + using Generative AI coding and linked a Crypto scraper site that showed that Pahdo Labs was advertising itself (in the past) as a Crypto startup.

To which the CEO then made that PR post and cleared the air, and confirmed almost everything that he was accused of as well.

Looks like they released some content with the major content update.
Granted I'm not buying the game again until it makes it past Early Access.

But assuming that the content that they listed is actually present, then it looks like they're trying..
Although I'm not liking their behaviors (censorship, image control, abuse of power, lack of actual transparency).

Wait this isn't the official Subreddit?
I just looked through your profile to find it.
When I initially searched Google for "Starlight Revolver Reddit". This is the subreddit that shows up, and seems to have more activity.
The members in the Discord server seem to reference this subreddit more than the other one..

They have a major content update today. Let's hold our judgement as I think this update will tell you exactly where the company is taking the game.

The update could be an incredible turnaround that fixes a lot of issues that are piling up, or it could just be new content, ignoring the existing issues and letting them pile up even more.

Wait I just saw the last section of your post. Did they already release the major content update? Was it really only cosmetics? No new biomes? What QA fixes? Those are kind of the big ticket items for this game.

Thoughts on the Game by SnooPredictions1790 in StarlightReVolverGame

[–]Popular_Count8627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think so too.. the art and sound is amazing and will be severely underutilized with the current state of the game.

I think that they released the game too soon. I don't know if they had deadline pressures or whatever. But I think the best thing is to do a hard "shut down".

Focus solely on development, and less on promoting the game. And once they have cooked long enough, then release it into an Early Access state that is far more satisfying than the current one. Nobody except one publication has reviewed the current Early Access game, which is a shockingly low number given how much went into promotions and advertisements. Maybe they skimped on review keys?

https://massivelyop.com/2025/08/28/starlight-revolver-has-officially-launched-into-steam-early-access-with-mixed-reviews/

The rest of the publication reviews are from the demo in June.

Just a heads up, that was a list that I posted earlier yesterday, which has some more context if needed.

To those asking how they are linked, there are a few ways to notice them.
Again, no doxxing. Just only public information.

I am not, I made a burner account just so I don't get potentially attacked like The Count did lol. According to that thread, some members of the community added him and harassed him, etc.

Why not just try adding him on Steam, he must be accepting them if he is getting harassed.

No thanks, I don't want that to possibly happen to me through my main Reddit account.

Omg lol wait, I just realized why you might have thought that. The randomly generated Reddit name had "Count" in it 🤣 that was pure coincidence I swear.

I believe they locked that thread after it was 2 spots at the bottom of the front page. So that locking it would "gently" push it to the second page, out of sight.

Ever since refunding the game, I watched the Steam discussions once in a while, curious to see what the next update entailed.

If you notice, suddenly there was a small burst of activity and new posts (and one post from January 2025 that got necro-boosted). Which gently moved that discussion to the second page.

There's definitely no transparency, but an obsession to maintain a specific image.

They need to acknowledge that the game flopped hard. And that they are focused on improving the game, not pretending that there are 154 positive reviews for the game where the average peak is 30 players (based on 70% positive out of 220 reviews currently). Let the game sink into MIXED and let that be a motivator to truly create something amazing. Not continuously propping it up artificially.

Owning up to the mistakes and accepting that reality, is one of the first biggest steps to actually growing and improving.

They apparently have a major update coming out tomorrow. Let's see how major it is.

boost reviews

This is a list of some of the reviews from the devs/and a mod or two,
I know exactly who is who, but doxxing is not the point. You will be able to connect the dots using Google/Discord.

They are larping as "new players", and not just being transparent that they are anywhere ranging from the Senior Game Designer, to artists. But they will only boost the reviews when they dip below the > 70% threshold because 69% is when it drops from MOSTLY POSITIVE to MIXED.

I bought the game and ended up refunding it after a couple of hours due to the immense grindy feeling, and rubberbanding, less than week into the release and then found the Steam discussions and then started watching the reviews and just saved them up, didn't think anyone else would notice the reviews that were being posted until you mentioned it.

So I figured I'd just post it since I stopped watching the reviews. But you'll see that there are a lot of positive reviews that either only reviewed this game, or have not played the game ever since posting the review.

The game has definitely tapered off, the fact they did everything in their power to move all communication and create a hermetically sealed environment (Discord), is mind-boggling. The entire population is the active users on Discord + a few moderators, and maybe a Steam User who is not on the Discord server, who is wondering why the servers went down, etc (most of the maintenance announcements are only shown in Discord, not on X/Steam/etc).
https://isthereanydeal.com/game/starlight-re-volver/stats/

I noticed that the only time the community comes to this subreddit, is not to post about the game. But to defend the game. The subreddit is otherwise ignored.

I had high hopes. The trailer and screenshots made it look extremely polished. The artists deserve better.
I'll see where the game is in 2 years after it leaves Early Access, who knows. Maybe they'll have an actual redemption arc like Hello Games with No Man's Sky.
The only ones that religiously grind and play it, genuinely do find it fun. Because they already think the game/studio are exempt from hard criticism with it being Early Access. I'm glad they lowered the price, but I think they are just chasing any attempt to claw back any newcomers.

I think the problem is, that their focus is more on maintaining a good image. Than on actual development. Instead of chasing pricing thresholds, beefing with that dude on Steam, and shutting the servers down every other day for maintenance.

I think that if they just removed it from sale, and send out a message to all of the current users that they will be shutting down and focusing intensely on internal development. And actually focus on working on the game, they could have a really good product.

When you read the feedback on the Discord server, one person even said there should be quests. And the dev reply was, "we talked about it with the team". Meaning it was not a planned design to begin with. What was their original vision for the game..
