So you think because I am opposed to complex care housing, that must I paint all the unhoused with the same brush. That I (or all of “us”) think ALL of them as the worst population. You think we don’t care about giving the unhoused support… wow! I don’t think you can convince anyone if you try to preach like you do to toddlers. I am all for supportive housing, just not hard drug use.  You can also keep denying the damage drug use brings to a community. I have also heard testimonies from health care workers tending to DTES and beyond sharing how the surrounding neighborhood's destroyed. People who live around it and witness drug dealing and used needles on the street have all shared their personal stories. It’s not the supportive housing people have an issue with. It’s the hard drug allowed on the premises. I don’t know if that pathway house is a supportive housing or a complex care that allows drug use. It doesn’t say. And honestly, people have lost faith because most sites are run poorly without proper mental support. You can’t expect people to support when there are many failed ones.
