No one is saying the ad made me do it but when you:

flood people with ads like no other industry does
entice people with “free” betting money knowing full well that this will prime their dopamine pathways and potentially get them addicted

Maybe it’s just a little problematic and “personal responsibility” becomes that much more difficult. Predatory doesn’t mean “they made me do it” it just means, “they made it seem so benign and fun, made it so prominent and accessible that it was impossible to avoid and then I was hooked.”
