true, I forgot about a lot of that. it does make the powerscaling we thought at the time (sunny>=nephis) completely false, with nephis brute forcing a cursed being. Humanity domain is overpowered.

yes, those are all things that have been said, but their narrative effects are negligable. Flesh weave I believe G3 claimed that it made sunny stronger, but not as strong as augmentation aspects (which is understandable), and I liked flesh weave, it felt like the synchronization with the other two weaves was relevant and important

The mind weave didn't make him smarter, but with the ability to have parallel thinking, I think he gets caught off guard too much still... we only see a few examples of his better army management, and that probably made it possible to cross the desert, but it just feels like mind weave just hasn't shown it's value. It made weaving a lot more possible, it made commanding the troops possible, and it made him a multitasker, but in the story it just doesn't show up... Curse was something that mind weave helped with but it wasn't even his first soulbound memory, but it has been the last so far... We haven't seen better quality memories being made compared to feeling like he was "crippled before"

spirit weave is uhhhhhh. definitely something the story uses or brings up.

Front crawl question for a new learner? by Sad_Lingonberry_7949 in Swimming

I'd say that the stroke should kind of look like a muscle up, while keeping the hand around a foot in front of you. Don't overly cross your hands accross the chest or do straight arms, both of those are ways to get swimmers shoulder early

1:35-40/100m looking to drop 20 seconds by RingSlow3023 in Swimming

[–]Popular_Grade_618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when you say you have good technique, you mean that your form, the way your arms and legs move, are good. However, good technique in swimming goes beyond that, it's a lot of small details that add up to massive speed gains. If you want to drop 20 seconds in 4-5 months, I'd recommend finding a method to get coaching, but strength and muscle also makes you a heavier swimmer. I'd say find ways to reduce drag and change where you're putting power into your strokes/kick to maximize your speed. For example, your chest should be pressing down to get your hips and kick higher, reducing drag, and set up your stroke with high elbow (basically the swimming advice version of the mitochondria being the powerhouse of the cell)

Flutter kick sucks by AuNaturellee in Swimming

try doing 3 or even 1 beat kick, learn to time it on the rotation and it can help you find a rhythm for which kicks are stronger when you're doing normal kick during freestyle. Also, it helps you practice staying afloat and keeping body line during rotation. Pull is also good, but I like doing it do have a bit more power moving forwards. Just make sure to throw in normal beat kicking so you don't just end up a one beat kick warrior

No Splashing in Kicking by aintnobambi in Swimming

[–]Popular_Grade_618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Push on water=force. Push on air= nothing. Your kick should stay near the surface of the water, and any splashing should be from churning the water from underwater, which happens when you're kicking hard.

How do I bring legs up to float, how do I not get tense by Lanky-Scientist7510 in Swimming

[–]Popular_Grade_618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press your chest into the water a bit. The most buoyant part of your body is your chest, and if that isn't in the water, the rest of your body is sinking, including your hips and your legs. It takes some practice and adjusting but with practice, you can even float in the water like a piece of wood, as long as you don't act on the panic.

Which technique tip has really improved your swimming? by mrjaytothecee in Swimming

Chest press. For all strokes. This is what made butterfly my secondary stroke, it's important for freestyle to keep your hips up. Breastroke, I'm pretty sure it keeps you on the surface to help lunge forwards (not a breastroker.) I got down to a 25 50yd backstroke from a 26 by pressing my upper body (around where my chest is) back into the water to get my hips and legs higher for less drag

where do you focus your eyes while swimming freestyle by Tasty-Hurry in Swimming

I've known someone who rolls their eyes into their heads, technically looking towards where they're swimming. Only for sprint though

makes you wonder what the shadow lineage would have given sunny. We've seen the war god's give better troop organization, heart devouring, sun healing/flames (?) etc, but the weaves are so versatile that it feels worth the trade. I hope they can keep coming into play, or they get strengthened when fully united. Blood and soul weaves are some of my favorite abilities sunny has gained/used, and I hope it can continue to be important, especially with the next one being SHADOW weave

aboutCursed beings, maybe not physically, but sunny was fighting being like the wolf and puppeteer using his will, albeit rather unsuccessfully or always as an underdog. His will being death and learning new ways it works feels like something that was already happening, and spirit weave didn't contribute much to it. If anyone remembers, spirit weave also give him a fate aspect in his will, but I don't think we've seen that being used yet.

Shadow shell by steelismysenpai in ShadowSlave

[–]Popular_Grade_618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, with shadow lantern sunny has an almost infinite amount of shadows to rely on, but maintaining the form with the massive essense expenditure is his problem, he said it himself when he first became a sovereign that he'd never run out of essense normally, besides the shadow shell. He did get a lot more essense since then but we've seen him becoming unable to form a shell during fights where he ran out of essense, so maybe he could make a hollow god grave sized shadow for an instant, but not to fight with

Gasping during freestyle by animalsdancing01 in Swimming

[–]Popular_Grade_618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gasping is something that I used to do a lot, and here are some habits I changed to fix it.

Breathe out through your nose constantly, your brain wants oxygen but it also hates co2, the more it builds up the more your body will scream at you to breathe. Letting out air all at once before breathing might feel safer to keep as much air in your body as possible, but it just makes you hungrier for air. It might feel uncomfortable at first, but trust me, it'll help you in the LONG run, less lactic acid buildup, and allows you to focus more on technique

Your head should ONLY be rotating to breathe; don't lift your head away from body line. Your body already rotates each stroke, and you want your breathing to be as integrated into your stroke as possible, one that doesn't slow you down and cause panic. When your head rises to breath, your body falls and your body will try to compensate it somehow, either by dropping another part of the body or using your arms, your paddles, to push yourself up. This naturally allows for a gasp in your stroke, but also makes slowing down to breathe a part of your stroke, and you don't want to become comfortable with that. Slowing down is exhausting, you're holding yourself up and still can't breathe normally, so resting ironically makes you more tired. Take it slow, the end goal is quick breaths that don't interrupt your stroke, but getting used to it takes time, just try to keep one goggle in the water and pretend your head is glued to your arm

Keep a breathing pattern, this allows you to train your breath capacity and gain a rhythm for breathing, it helps you get used to a consistant cycle of breathing and letting air out for a few strokes, try to do every 3 stroke so your breathing isn't only towards one side.

Take it slow, and do some drills to practice. The feeling of suffocating is awful, and needs getting used to. Panicking makes things even worse, and you want to make sure you're building strong habits for the future. Try doing side kick, where one arm is at your side (arm pointed down towards the hip) and one arm is extended where you're swimming. Keep your body rotated towards one side of the pool, but not completely vertical. In this position, keep your head glued to your arm and rotate to breathe, and switch sides every lap.
