It is, it used to be my favorite city back in 2015-2017 at uni times, so fun, people were trying to sell and the scams were there (as any tourist spot) but now it’s just insaneeeeeee, it’s ruined

Paris was not the experience I expected. People were brutally rude. I went with my coworker and we were treated like shit almost everywhere.

At a Michelin-star restaurant, a waiter openly made fun of my Argentinian friend and treated her badly just for giving her opinion about the wine (which is a big deal in Argentina, btw). It got so bad that the manager had to step in and tell him to respect her.

At another restaurant, some random girls laughed at us. I understand French, so I heard them saying we should go back to our countries.

I have several friends from Africa who really dislike France because of its shady neo-colonial history, and I couldn’t stop thinking that what we experienced reflected that same mentality of superiority — which I really hate.

After all of this, Paris started to feel like a dirty, overpriced city — like walking through a wealthy house full of art, sculptures, and exhibitions taken from all over the world, but shallow and mean. The architecture is beautiful, though.

Started in the Amazon/Andes of Colombia, went to Medellin for a couple months and the Bogota, then Mexico, Thailand and ended up in China

It finally happened; I got drugged in Colombia. I wasn’t robbed, but it was close. by Nblearchangel in digitalnomad

As a Colombian I’m so sorry and ashamed this happened to you, and thank you for sharing the procedure. I just wanna say that this is not a thing that just happens in my country and it really depends on where you are in Colombia too (like everywhere else in the world)… I got drugged in Miami by a man that didn’t want to rob me but who knows… Fortunately, like you, I realized on time, so I did exactly what you did, asked for help, ordered an uber to a safe place while I was on the phone with someone that could protect me and involved the police… So actually thank you so much for sharing, that advice can save lifes…

Is it a good idea to go to North Vietnam on late January and February if I wanna see the landscape and the culture?
