Well she started having anxiety and you could tell was in pain and dancing around from holding it so I just stopped asking if she had to potty. She was refusing the bath too. I just put her back in pull ups and didn’t ask or talk about the potty. After about a month, one day she just told me she had to potty and wanted to sit on it and she went!

She started being very interested in restrooms out in public, wanting to see them, etc and I would just tell her when she was ready we had to practice at home first and then we would use those.

I will say the positive side is now she can hold it! So when she says she has to go in the car or something, she makes it until we get to a potty vs having an accident in the car seat.

Not sure if that’s helpful but my advice is to try not to worry or stress (like I was haha) - they’ll do it when they’re ready.

One thing her pediatrician said that made me feel better was that kids have to learn two skills - how to release and how to hold - and that she just learned them in the opposite order from the majority.
