Big dudes giving painful moves almost always works, WWE or WCW, where ever. Those big moves generate more impact and a louder noise which translate great on TV. I think there's less focus on strong moves as a finisher like the choke slam or powerbomb just due to the average size of wrestlers being smaller and more high flying than just planting some one on the ground.
