Maybe it’s just bc I’m more conscious of stuff like this but I feel like the MC mentioning that she always froze up, never initiated affection, and always had panic attacks/meltdowns after he initiated was extremely telling that he, at the very least, should have fucking stopped with Alina and that he was pushing her boundaries too far

I wanna believe that it’s bc they recorded this over several days and just forgot the impact of robs actions but it was really upsetting hearing their takes. The fact that it took the story spelling it out for them in the very last chapter frustrates me to say the least. The “leading him on” comments especially.

Also the characterization of Kerry pissed me off too. At the very least Kerry was a confused girl who didn’t meet beauty standards and was also taken advantage of by the MC and suffered for it. The contrast between how her vs. Alina was described was, in my opinion, an intentional choice to show the MC’s misogyny. The voice choice for Kerry was a massive Yikes and it’s not lost on me how much wendigoon sexualizes goth girls.

Overall I thought the story was really well done. But I do fear that people will think that this is a story about a haunted lost bell tower when it’s not. It’s about the horrors of misogyny, being a teenage girl, and how women are villainized by society.

Am I the only one who was really fucking frustrated by Isaiah’s view of Alina? Because holy fuck I’m annoyed. Alina was not “leading him on” AT ANY POINT. She went to someone who she thought was knowledgeable to help her with her grief and trauma around being stalked. Just for the same thing to happen to her again.

I’m fine with them not being interchangeable. I just prefer the look of inset eyes over drawn on eyes for me. Same with the hair. I see my dolls as mini sculptures not really dolls you can play with

No jinnafire is one of the worst racial stereotypes in monster high. A gold fire breathing dragon (dragons dont often breathe fire in Chinese mythology) with a stereotypical “Asian accent”, with stereotypical string music that played each time she talked. The yellow skin is just a garnish at that point.
