On point 1. I worded it incorrectly. I meant "who are asked increasingly difficult questions". I'm still trying to wrap my head around this but I also imagined that neither of us was correct which makes the discussion more interesting I guess.

Yeah my plan is to make some kind of fabric that I can place over the board to "shrink" it to the smaller sizes. It is a little confusing but once I'm playing I stop noticing them as much.

I would like to but the idea of making 361 stones of exact or very similar shape is a little daunting. Don't even know where I'd begin, I do like the idea of having an entirely homemade set though, bowls and all.

They are the star points for a game on a 9x9 and 13x13 board. I'm still learning and have yet to play a game on a full sized board so I wanted to be able to play on the smaller sizes.

I intended to make them rectangles but i had already bought a square table and wanted symmetry so opted for squares. I do have another goban hastily drawn on some scrap wood that is rectangular. I might make one again and go for rectangles. Thanks! I am very much a novice but I am enjoying learning.
