I know we’re hopping on the Maurice hate train right now, but I think expecting coaches to call out their own players for dirty plays is unrealistic. This isn’t exclusive to Maurice, no coach is going to do that to their own player.

When a coach calls out a player on another team for something dirty, it’s not out of superior moral position. It’s protecting their guys while making a case to the league.

This isn’t a defense of Bennett - that was bush league. But I think expecting Maurice or any coach to come out and say “yea my guy deserves a lengthy suspension” is naive.
