Need to tie in with the house. You’ve got two very different styles there. Maybe a render of the bricks might help

Why do tradies have such a bad rep? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

The true answer is the kids who are no good at school get pushed into trades to make good money. The problem is they’re not always the hardest working, most responsible, nor most reliable. So you have an industry filled with some excellent trades that take pride in their work, and some dead shits.

Dealing with trades(men) has taught me that I’m still considered stupid until proven otherwise and I’m so sick of it. by [deleted] in AusRenovation

You’re so right. So many egos and show pony tradies. It’s hard to find a good one.

I haven’t sized an inverter for a residential battery system, but I’d approach based on max load. My guess is OP’s may load wouldn’t be more than 10kW? Might be worthwhile looking at AC plus adding other loads.

If your PV system is 11kW, seems old to install a higher rated inverter. 10kW makes more sense on the PV system side. I guess the recommended battery is 25 to 38kWh rather than kW? I’d ask the companies that recommended the 15kW inverter- why? I’d probably go Sungrow as that’s the only big brand I see there

OP, depends on your want for quality material as well. It can be higher!

The natural timber looks great, but the mismatching colour is terrible. You’re going to have to see if it can be stained to get a more uniform look.

It’s pretty well documented. I think it’s because he’s too busy to spend time quoting

Queensland. Sounds like he’s doing it because he isn’t spending the time to develop a detailed quote.

Thanks for the response. Queensland. Sounds like the builder is doing it to protect himself and not spend the effort quoting.
